Media player for grandparents?
bizzo
18-10-2007
I am thinking of getting a media player for my elderly (late 80s) grandparents as they can no longer cope with taking CDs in and out of the player. I quite like the look of the Apple TV
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Apple-MA711B...dp/B000IJKDHI/

but it looks like it has a scroll wheel on the remote which I don't think my gparents would cope with. I also think it needs to be connected to the net which I don't really want to have to do. Can anyone suggest an alternative to the Apple that is easy to use with simple menus etc?

Thanks,

Jay

I have just purchased an ATMT SCART 320GB Media Player for just under £100.

So far, so good. It can play music, films and pictures. The fan is a little noisy but when you are listening to music or watching a film you can't really notice. Navigation is simple.

It has very good reviews on Amazon but purchase from Maplin as it is much cheaper and free next day delivery (tip: if you add some cheap batteries or lead to your basket to take it over £100 you can receive £7 off if you subscribe to their newsletter beforehand).
