3 - are they any better?
I was with 3 about 3 years ago but only kept the phone for 2 weeks, it was an all round bad experience. Phone network and particularly customer service.
I have been shopping about for a new phone and got a good deal with them but just a bit wary. What are 3 like these days? are there customer service still as bad? |

I remember struggling to get a signal and having to pay 50p each time I wanted to play the Breakout game. They're supposed to be really good now - PAYG has changed a lot in the last couple of years. |

After almost 2yrs of having a crappy service I have left 3 on contract and have gone onto t-mobile |

im also thinking of joining them, however, they say once you put the sim card in the handset and switch it on, doing this will then end your 14 day cooling off period!!! so how am i supposed to see if the signal is good in my area??

I have no problems with it, I just don't like the thought of an 18month contract... that's my only gripe.

Unless they have changed the content in the last several months, full penetrative sex being shown.
, I want to join them myself but am worried about signal also, Around here I have good reception on O2 and Vodafone, so if they use any of there transmitters I will be fine

good way to find out is get a sim card for £1.99 you can try it on any phone and if you get signal you can get contract or pay as you go knowing you got signal

While I'm no fan of the smut available for download (well, over the cellular network anyway ), if I WAS going to buy porn, I'd want it to be the proper stuff....Seriously though, type of content that I could CHOOSE to download (after several security checks) certainly wouldn't affect my decision in choosing a network. |

Me and my girlfriend have both been on Three for over 2 years. They are great. I never get any dropped calls, they have the best 3G coverage of any network and if your out of Three's coverage you just roam onto Orange, even if this happens in the middle of a call I've had no problems. The only down side is the Indian call centre but they seem to have improved a lot. On the whole I think Three are great and would recommend them to anyone.
I have just upgraded and they offered me a Nokia 6120, 300 minutes and 150 texts plus 50 MMS, 25 video talk minutes and £5 worth of free downloads every month for £15 on a 12 month contract. Unlike most networks existing customers get better deals than new one's, which is how it should be. |

Not really much cop. I pay them £45 per month, and stick with them mainly because I need to use their Pupillo remote camera. (does anyone know a better alternative? I've kept hoping any other network would come up with a remote camera).
Anyhow, customer service is crap. I went into the store and the salesperson didn't know the answer to my question. I was told to call customer service, but the Indian's are useless. Their customer service is just the worst you could have. Also reception is lousy, I was told they had got better when I got my K800i. The usual sales patter the phones can get a stronger signal. Total rubbish. I lose 3G in my lounge, in the kitchen it's okay - but it varies. One thing I will say is the k800i is rugged. So often when I can't pick up a signal, I've thrown the phone at the fireplace, wall, bitten it, kicked it etc (all in frustration) Still works fine, but with its war wounds. Only good points are international roaming. They were cheap before the legislation kicked in, and in Singapore & Australia I was able to surf the web on my plan and the service was quite good. I like their funky image but I'd say get some local call centres. They removed the advertisement banners from the phones which was also good. I pay £5 for internet access and now there's a stupid warning message whenever I want to surf some pages, It really drives me nuts as it's a total waste of time. Also I set up my phone through their shop and I kept getting calls about new tariffs etc, supposedly from 3 - but they do say they are agents when you ask. God knows how they get your details, but there is some problem with the way 3 works there. |

I'm very happy with 3, find them rock solid in coverage.
However, that is just my experience (before I get shot down). I've got friends and family, across the UK with 3 and they're all happy. |
