IMPO ...3 are scumbags
..2nd rate phones,
2nd rate service
a bunch of useless so and so's in their billing department.
Tech support manned by a bunch of aliens pretending to be humans.

I'd rather ride bare assed to London on a rusty bacon slicer than recommend them to anyone....
and signing up for 18 months just to get a phone...save up...buy it retail and go PAYG...

i'm coming to the end of my first contract with 3 and I am more than happy to renew as i've got no problems with them.

Admittedly, i've been lucky in one respect. I live on the edge of a known "hole" in 3G reception, so when I initially got my V3X Razr, I was lucky if I got 1 or 2 bars, so I re-flashed it to unlock the ability to switch if from automatic network roaming to manual and basically select 2.5G instead of 3G.

I've had 5 strong bars ever since and have no issues with them - they even screwed up my bill, and basically forgot my 18 month half price line rental deal, so i rang them up to talk about it and without me even raising my voice, they credited me the equivalent of 6 months half price line rental to cover the cock up.

My only concern is when I get the LG U990, is that it will be locked to 3G and i'll have the same problems as I did in the early days of my V3X.

glad it's not just me with 3 then
got myself a nice little number with vodafone and a n95 today.
i stay on contract cause it really is cheaper for me, as i get £400 phone and use every last text and minute that i can.
my phone rental only comes to £360 for the year and i damned if i ever go over my inclusive minutes.
i'm chuffed, really chuffed to be leaving 3 especially as i was on the phone for 45 minutes this afternoon trying to unlock the old phone

The coverage is very impressive, I wouldn't go anywhere else now.

where I live now is the bottom of a hill and the signal is really iffy. It's okay upstairs and non existent downstairs as a general rule.

But I'm one of those who'd have a fit if the network wanted to put a mast in my village. I would rather struggle on than have those towers descend on us.

What I find odd though is that when I visit family in really built up parts of Liverpool or close to the centre of Leicester the 3G signal vanishes. I can't understand why their coverage in those really densely populated areas is so bad.

Using my phone to interact with the pupillo, there have been quite a few times when I have tried to demonstrate (or show off ) how it works, and I have had no signal, even though I know I'm in the right place to get one. I usually have to bluster about how it usually works but I keep my mouth shut now. The people I've demonstrated it to, have only seen it not work !

Possibly the higher frequencies not cutting through as well? you should get Orange 2g as backup though.
