Nokia Predictive Text

It seems Nokia have changed their predictive text method / system.

You can and have always been able to add words – on my Nokia 6680 for example the word ‘Fone’ is there, and I can get it by pressing the star key twice: Done, Food, Fone – got it. On my E65 the word I added ‘Fone’ comes up first: Fone, Done, Food – why? I want the usual words to stay there as first option and my added options to come after.

Same with other words:

Nokia 6680:
Has, Gas, ICQ
Nokia E65
ICQ, Has, Gas.

Can i remove words from the 'extra' memory which i add in? Can i have it change the order to how it used to be?

there's nothing you can do about this. it normally only puts your words first if the other words are regarded as low priority.

that having been said some clever chap maybe able to tell you where the words are stored on on your smart phone and you maybe able to use a 3rd party file manager to remove them.

I had this problem, and there is a way of fixing it!

Just try to type the word you want several times in a row. After having the change the Nokia's after 3 or 4 times, it will get the message that you word you want is not the word it thinks and from that point on 'your' word will have precendence!

Understand? Bit hard to explain!

It's their way of making text speak easier for people who use it with predictive text. In my 6300 and now in my SE W810i it has the words:

fone, brb, ur, wtf, lol, msn, etc etc

I prefer spelling properly in texts though.

As I understand it the phone puts the words in order depending on how often you use them. So in your example you must use fone more often than the others.

I'm having the same aggravating problem with my 6500 Slide - I added 'wot' for some reason and now every time I go to type 'you' which is pretty flipping often, I have to scroll past 'wot'!

And trust me, as many times as I do this it still doesn't change back... grrrrr!
