Why do you need to give a tip? I just say "thank you very much it looks lovely" and reasure them I'll be back next time and tell my friends about them, I think thats enough of a tip.

My sister's friend is a freelance hairdresser. She cuts both my mum's and my hair. Costs me £5. The most I've ever paid for a cut was £20. There was nothing ground-breaking about it.

I have an experienced stylist at Toni and Guy, went to see him today, he cuts my hair beautifully as usual and is really bubbly and friendly. I pay £53 for a wash, restyle, blow dry and finish. The best service I have had from any hairdresser and it's worth every penny.

Tight or don't like getting ripped off?

I might start cutting my own hair, 1 set of clippers only costs about £10. My last hair cut cost £15.00.

Waited for half an hour, barber spent about 5 minutes on me and then charged me £15.00, it didn't even look like I had a haircut!

Up in manchester I paid £4.50 for a haircut, in hertfordshire I pay £9.50.

Talk about fringe benefits..

I would have told them that I wanted my hair putting back!

I usually pay about £80 - £100 for foil highlights, cut and blow dry. I'm not extravagant about other things but love my hair and don't mind spending that much on it.

That's almost as much as I've ever paid for my most expensive hair appt. Was also a colour, cut and dry. Was £120.

Just for a trim and blow dry though I usually pay just £35.

Last time I did my OH's hair with the clippers I made a total hash of it and managed to clip his ear.

Now he goes to the barber.

WOW!! Was it worth it? I mean, was it £300 better than £100 hair do?

Actually, I'd love to spend £400 on my hair!

Im guessing there is a huge difference in the prices the sexes will pay? Women? god knows. Fellas, will go upto £7.50 if it involves the hairdressers boobs smothering their face.

Any man that pays more for a haircut has mental problems.

I've paid more for a lap dance, than I have ever paid for a haircut.

Just a little bit off the top luv and tidy it up round the back.

Every hairdresser I've ever known (albeit only four) has been paid minimum wage. They use vanity and snobbishness to justify charging exhorbitant fees.

Sometimes I get everything done to my hair for free, my cousins a hairdresser

At the hairdressers though, I get my highlights and a cut and its usually about £37. Sometimes I get a color and highlights, and thats only about £40. Most I'v paid was £55 when I had to get it bleached, then color, then highlights, then cut (I was going from Black to Blonde.)
