I go to a barbers, I used to pay £7.50 but it's gone up to £8. Not so bad I suppose and they always do a good job. Just means they get 50p less in their tip.

I usually pay around £10 for mine. My OH and son I do myself with the clippers and the brother in law has just started having me do his as well. He has just woken up to the fact that me doing it for free is no different to paying £20 to have someone else use the clippers on him.

Usual hair dresser I get charges £45 for a cut and colour.
Went to another hairdresser last time and they charged me £70. No different to what I normally get apart from a shit hair cut that I have been trying to grow out for the last few months.

I am not sure where they come up with thier prices some times.

Why exactly?

Not where I go. I'd be very suprised if you could afford their cars and lifestyles on minimum wage. You pay for what you get.

How are they mutually exclusive? I suppose I just prefer quality and realise that if you pay for a better service you get it and don't try and trick myself into thinking that i'd get the same for a £30 cut.

Guess thats where we are different I got better service with the less expensive salon....and a better hair cut!

The more expensive salon had five different people doing my hair, including a junior blowdrying it

Different people different experiences I guess!

I pay £19 for a wash, massage and cut. I dont think that's too bad for a senior stylist. I am thinking about going to see that barber who does reports on The Paul O'Grady show (just cause he's cute ) and ten minutes away.

If you think that Toni&Guy is pricey, you might want to step into the real world.

I don't pay anything, I cut it myself with clippers when having shortish hair.

If growing it longer, I'll get one of the family to give it a trim.

I don't like spending any money whatsoever unless I really have no choice, and with haircuts there is never not a choice of paying nothing.

I now pay £10 a month, but it's not a patch on the hairdresser I had in Aberdeen who charged £33-35, highlights not included...
