Digihome going back

Bought the 80GB Digihome from Argos today

It stuttered and jumped like crazy with 2 feeds from an amp so went back to a single feed and patch lead.

That was OK but the picture quality is dreadful compared to the inbuilt freeview and Inverto on the LE40M87BDX

Amplifiers often cause more problems than they solve, especially those located next to your TV at the end of the aerial downlead, since they tend to amplify the noise, and therefore generate more errors on the decoded digital signal.

Hardly anyone has complained about the picture quality on Vestel units - I'm certainly more than happy with it, and is at least equal or superior to other makes of Freeview boxes I've tried. Presumably you did switch it to RGB from CVBS in the config?

I spent quite a bit of time comparing amps and am well aware of the drawbacks

Exactly the same amp is supplying the Inverto and built in Freeview tuner

I had to check that some of the "clever" stuff on the Samsung had not somehow been turned back on - not the case

The picture had jagged edges and halos neither present on the other 2 sources
