I thought Matt was very good tonight and don't see him as arrogant at all. I think he just is hard on himself and hates it if he gets it wrong - he also gets very nervous before going on. Alisha was outstanding as ever - Dom made me smile and Gethin is gorgeous whatever he does! As for Kelly and Gabby - I thought they were both fantastic and I felt for Penny who did so well last week but had a problem this week. (incidentaly I like all three of them - and I am female so that sort of blows your jealousy theory out of the water a bit!) It is about the dancing not what they look like - although I confess that I would miss Matt and Gethin if they went out (for reasons I will keep to myself!)

Ola did some muscle damage during the week and they missed 2 days training because of it...... but they just didn't bleat on about it for sympathy votes

Hi Diamondlife, nice to see you on here again - where have you been.

Sorry you don't share all my views, but that's healthy, and you're always so polite that I'm really interested in hearing what you have to say.

I agree with you about Bruce's jokes - they are dire - but thats what makes them so funny, they're just so bad! And you're right, his interaction with the judges is great. I just find him a nice, cosy, familiar figure who I love to see on TV.

Anyway, nice to have you back.

Hey moonie,...as this is an honest thread, what about Brendans double foot step in the middle of his dance. They did not show a repeat, but it was so obvious I am suprised no one has commented.

I also think that had he kept his mouth shut, some of the judges (well 3 of them) would have missed it.

I am sure Bruce was having a power nap during it...LOL

Matt and Flavia - million times better, he got the dance completely, shame about the mistake, but full credit for getting right back into it.

Gabby and James - love it, again, shame about slight mistakes, but good jive.

Penny & Ian - love her dearly, but that was dire, I got the impression she'd already decided that she couldn't dance the jive.

Gethin & Camilla - sorry, but I found that dreadful, mainly because I was complete distracted by the strange expression on Gethin's face, it looked like they'd replaced his head with a lifesize Ken-doll one

Kate & Anton - huge improvement from last week, and slightly undermarked IMHO

Kenny & Ola - again, huge improvement, and strangely violent to watch

Alesha & Matt - complete joy to watch, not perfect, but her love of what she's doing shines through.

Brendan & Kelly - really good tango, she looked amazing, just can't warm to Brendan at all.

Letisha & Darren - could she stop it already with the mouth thing, it's completely distracting and puts me in mind of Jodie Marsh's porno gurning, which is not a good thing

Willie & Erin - I like it, yes his posture is wrong, but he's lovely and light on his feet, plus great music.

Dom & Lilia - fun, but the cheeky chappie routine will only get them so far, I suspect, come the 'serious' ballroom dances they could come unstuck.

Why do people always say that, when another woman does not like another it is a jealousy thing? One woman can dislike another without it being jealousy.

Reasons not to like Gabby: Far too competitive and her dances are very clinical and over rehersed so lack the natural flair some enjoy.
Reason not to like Penny: Not that good at latin dances adn looks akward (hardly jealous of being married to her grandad - yuk!)
Reason not to like Kelly: vacous tart who made her name by flashing her sn*tch at a movie premier! - Yuk!

PS I like all 3 before you accuse me of jealousy!

Can I join the NoT arrogant brigade about Matt. All I see is a lovely young man
a. trying to become himself and not his soap character to the GBP
b. A young lad (he's only 20) doing something totally out of his comfort zone for his age group - I would think this sits harder with his friends that for Louisa who could, at least, say how much she enjoys the make-up and dresses.
c. Every 20 year old I know is totally into their public image and petrified of looking stupid - he's no different and he hides his fear with humour and side comments to camera.

Thought he was much improved and as he relaxes because he knows SCD was a good move for him, I'm sure he will get even better.

Well done gritty. A very good appraisal of Matt.

I am not a great fan of some of the younger celebs as I feel they have an unfair advantage over the geriatrics. However, Matt has come across as a very well balanced sensible young man.

Good luck to him and I hope he does very well.

What is this unfair advantage you speak of?

What makes them think so? Had they heard of her and formed an opinion before SCD?

I don't think it's so easy to rule out jealousy.

For any such reason, one can wonder why that description has been selected out of all the things that could be said about the woman. Why couldn't the reason for that -- for thinking of her in that way -- be jealousy, or some similar resentment-like emotion?

Especially the venomous-sounding one for Kelly, and even more especially since it isn't true. She'd already become well-known because of the Big Breakfast, and the dress wasn't more revealing than a bathing suit would be. Others have since worn similar dresses without getting that reaction.

Have to agree with you Veri. To refer to Kelly as a "tart" is simply offensive and inappropriate...and she isn't vacuous either.

I think there is something in this jealousy thing.

I'm not going to get into a discussion about the cult of celebrity (and how Kelly really made her name) which you clearly don't see the dark side of, as it is entirley off topic, but yes I think kelly is vacuos. I don't dislike her as I said, which you failed to notice I see. I personally think that it is possible for one woman to dislike another without it being jealousy (how can anyone be jealous of being a bit dim?), in fact to suggest it as matter of course as the OP did is a tad insulting to our intelligence. And if these people did not want to be up for public scrutiny why bother with SCD? And if you think that my discription of Kelly is venomous, don't ever pop into showbiz and read the threads there!

I still stand by my point of disliking another woman is not always jealousy, it just is an easy way of writting it off. I think she is a little tarty and a bit dim. How on earth that is construde as jealousy is beyond me?

TonyBlair,

Can I ask you again not to use the word "geriatric". Its a very unpleasant word and quite an offensive word to describe the older generation.

Thank you.

diddygirl,

How can you dislike her on the show? Yes, she's been a rubbish TV presenter on previous shows, but on Strictly she's done nothing but be nice and bubbly. She's really changed my perception of her.

I think you misunderstand, I don't dislike her per say, i just don't particularly like her either. Great dancer though and I would vote for her on that point (if I voted)

I agree - I can't see where any of this stuff about Kelly is coming from in terms of SCD coverage - either in the papers or ITT or other TV appearances about SCD.

I haven't heard her saying anything (yet) which could be construed as tarty or vacuous.
