I realise I am sailing into uncharted territory here, but i am finding Dom just a tad annoying. I had never seen or heard of him before this series of SCD and am sure he is a really nice guy, but his routines and the last group dance were reminiscent of the old guy in Benny Hill and I think that kind of leering and bottom slapping is not harmless fun anymore, but rather sleazy and pointless.
Of course he is not responsible for the choreography, so let's hope he gets some real dancing to do next week, without the innuendo. I find him unbearable to watch at the moment.

Yep wore very thin on me after seeing that training footage
Personally if i was teaching him i'd probably hit him
but then each to their own!lol

Each to their own, I don't find him seedy and, as you say, the choreography has a lot to do with it. Seeing him on ITT, he really is a determined character. I quite like him, can't actually see him as a winner but think he will be around for a while yet. He does some presenting on the One Show which is on BBC1 at 7pm. He has presented other shows, I hadn't seen him but my husband knew who he was because apparently he used to do something about cars!

His best bit, for me, was that meringue group dance the guys did last week, where Dominic was on his knees and then just leaped up all in one go!

I did wonder whether Lilia was getting a bit irritated too - when he was explaining the braces accident to the judges today, and how Lilia wasn't able to pull him as a result, she said "now you're blaming me" or words to that effect.

I find the cheeky chappy schtick boring now we're in week 3. Much easier to get away with in the latin dances - let's see how he copes with ballroom.

I liked Dom the first couple of weeks but I`m not quite sure of him now.

No-one seems to have mentioned the look on his face when his scores were being read out. He wasnt a very happy chappy then.

I mentioned it in one of the thread! He looked positively pis*ed!

I think Lilia is trying her best and using what she can but, yes I find him annoying now.

I`m sure he used to present the show `To buy or not to buy`and `Right car wrong car`

He also claims he has never paid the asking/full price for anything.

So glad there are other who think the same as me.

I find him so irrating I want to scream!

He is so desperate to win and has a very cocky attitude which I do not like.

Yes I noticed his face tonight when the scores were being read out definately not a happy chappie.

I find him also very sleazy and quite pervy when he is doing the bottom slapping with Lilia. Poor Lilia

How on earth will he cope with no bottom slapping in the ballroom dances he has only done latin so far.

Poor Lilia - she can't get a Darren every series and it must be difficult to choreograph Dom. She went the best way I suppose but can only go so far with the CC routines.
Let' s see how he goes in the ballroom dances, although i feel he will still be really annoying. I am expecting him to break into 'always look on the bright side of life' any minute and try and sell me some dodgy perfume.

Sorry, I agree as well. Can't put my finger on it but I find him quite annoying as well. Not convinced Lilia likes him as much as she said she does either.

I am glad I havent been called to task for my remarks and that people agree with me. I refrained from using the word 'pervy', but that is just what i meant.

I too thought that Dominic seemed a funny, enthusiastic contestant at first but now he's coming across as too desperate. He just seems a bit OTT and it's becoming irritating.

He's always trying to come out with witty responses on the live show and it training it did seem like Lilia was getting a bit fet up with his constant wittering.

I think he's doing a reasonable job with the dancing but he's had two latin numbers that have been a bit slap-stick and I wonder how he will cope with the waltz or other ballroom dances when he has to be a bit more serious.

.... although his waltz will probably end up like a Charlie Chaplin routine.

Remember he is only following Lilia's orders.

I think some of you are being a bit hard on Dom. He has been nothing but frank about his foibles (i.e. over competitive, talks too much, cheeky personality). I for one hopes he sticks around until at least Lillia does the Paso Doble with him

Totally agree.....

Trouble with so many people is that they prefer the artificial characters who have trouble living in the real world and are different things for different people as the mood requires......unlike Dom who is a WYSIWYG through and through.

Rock on Dom.......

I noticed - when someone is too competitive it shows and it does not look particularly attractive - watching their rountine last night I was bored (and I love Lilia)

I thought Dom was funny at first, but after only 3 shows I am fed up of his cheeky chappy image, wonder if he is getting on Lilia's nerves.

Because his act is shallow, he has to rely on his self-proclaimed cheekie chappie image. Thats fun for all of a week, after which his locker is bare.

He has become a caricature of himself and will be voted off soon. Its a huge shame as his dance partner is one of the very best.

He was great fun at first, and it was all a great novelty and fun act for SCD, but it's becoming a one trick pony act now, as I remarked to my OH last night. Shame, 'cause he deserves a longer stay in many ways, and he has been entertaining.

Not loving him, and I didn't rate his dance last night either.

I think he was a bit shocked by the judges comments. Week one, they were full of praise for his enthusiasm, and his cheeky-chappy personality, but this week he was criticised for the exact same thing.

I think he could do alright, but he needs to learn a bit of light and shade.
