I do prefer DOI to SCD, there just seems to be more skill involved. Plus it's got better presenters.

I love them both but I cringe while I am watching DOI.

My daughter and granddaughter took me for some exercise last year to the ice rink and I ended up breaking my wrist and having a metal structure pinned on for 3 months.

Therefore although I shiver while I am watching I have the utmost respect for all who take part.

I can't wait to see fro definite who will be taking part

I'm an X Factor viewer and SCD has never appealed to me. I love DOI, though, and am looking forward to the new series.

I like them both but I prefer SCD.....the variety of dances they do on SCD is far greater. DOI is a bit annoying being on ITV because of advert breaks and the voting is more expensive so I don't normally bother voting on DOI.

However, I definitely think the 2nd series of DOI was better than the first as the calibre of the skating was way improved, in the first series it was just a case of who could do the best lifts really.

I also prefer the judges on SCD as well.

Although I do enjpy watching them both!

I agree about the ad breaks smileatt, they do break up the programme. I do like SCD, but DOI has the edge for me as the "Celebs" ( I hate that word) have to learn to skate as well as learning a new routine every week. It is also great to have Jayne and Chris back on our screens for a few weeks.

I'm an SCD fan who has also taken to DOI. I have to admit that of the two I prefer SCD but DOI makes a decent substitute.

I never watched shows like this till the first year of DOI ... I took a few ice skating lessons as a kid, and obviously loved Chris and Jane, so when DOI came around I couldn't not watch (despite it being on ITV!) ... I loved that celebs were actually learning to do something so dangerous and hard, and they were actually doing it well ... and then the class of 2007 came around and I was totally blown away, Clare, Kieran, James and Lee were all superb, and obviously watching Clare/Andrei was just breath taking ...

... so, when DOI left my screen I think I went a little doolally, and started looking out for other shows that might capture my imagination in a similar way ... I got hooked by Joseph first ... and when SCD came along this autumn I thought I'd better give it a go, and of course in the last few months I've managed to become a SCD obsessive, this was of course helped by the fact that this year there were at least three fantastic celebs who could have taken the title, and all that excitement!

Anyway, I love SCD, but my obsession definitely started with DOI ...

I love DOI, not a SCD fan. I think thats probably because SCD was always on the same time as Xfactor so I never watched it.

It was the opposite for me. I always watched SCD. Love both that and DOI.

Oh god, here I go:

I love SCD, but can't really find the "jazz" of DOI. I do watch it sometimes, but I'll only tune in to find out which "celebs" are on it.

I'm addicted to all things SCD I just love, love, love that programme and vote madly for my favourites. DOI is good and I do watch but I'm not bothered if I don't see it and I definitely don't vote - I mainly watch it because it fuel's my dance addiction a little bit longer and T&D are wonderful.

I like both equally - although this year on Strictly Come Dancing Len's shouting over the other judges got me down. So did Bruce's inability to read the autocue and even when he could the jokes were dreadful. On the whole though the dancers made up for the downside. For me, one of the highlights on Strictly Come Dancing is seeing the professionals perform together in group dances. I'd like to see some of them join Torvill and Dean, although I don't suppose this is practical.

I'm not much of a SCD fan, it's a good show but it's simply not my thing. I find the dancing a bit dull, lacking the pace and excitement of DOI. I'm also an X-Factor fan so that doesn't help.

I love both but prefer strictly.
I have noticed though that i always back the winner in DOI whereas i rarely do (except this year) in strictly.

I fancied the chances of the runners up in Dancing on Ice in series 1 and 2.

Strictly, didn't watch much of the first one, but I would have backed Claire Sweeney. Backed Aled and Denise in series 2, Darren series 3, Ramps series 4 and Alesha series 5.

Love SCD partly for the live band - canned music sounds so dull and cheap-skate in comparison. Don't watch X-factor etc, don't give a damn about karaokeing wannabes.

I am new on here, but I used to post on the SCD boards before they closed.

I like both SCD and DOI but I must admit to preferring SCD.

These two programmes along with Maria and Joseph are the only reality shows I watch.

I absolutely LOVE Dancing on Ice, mainly because I love skating I guess but I've never warmed to SCD.

I've always been a bit on the X Factor side in the run up to Christmas. I can't sit and watch a full SCD.

Love DOI, I can watch SCD and enjoy it occasionally but I'm more of an XF person.

I watch both SCD and DOI, I think I prefer DOI, as I would imagine it to be more skilled than just learning to dance, and of course it has got the fantastic T&D.

I watch both DOI and SCD and will admit to actually being a die hard fan of both but in terms of an actual hands down winner it has to be DOI! There's nothing like watching people really do something that is itself a very difficult skill to master, I admire all the celebs for undertaking it, I know I couldn't do it...I'd like to but I couldn't, there's a difference
It also has the AMAZING, INCREDIBLE, AWESOME & LEGENDARY Torvill & Dean, ultimate winner!
