English is not my native language too!

I find it confusing when people write 'Your so good' when they mean 'You're so good'...

have been reading and enjoying immensely the grammatical references in the posts above!

I share many of your "peeves" - my ABSOLUTE HATE though is " could of" - that drives me completely insane.

I roared with laughter Lovely Leitrim about your comment in which you referred to "pseudocream" - absolutely wonderful!

A friend of mine was once using some dermatological cream for something or other and I had to go and pick it up from the chemist for her - she had written down on a piece of paper the item she wanted and had badly mis-spelled it - so hubby and I rather unkindly from then on called it "Dermot The Logical Cream" !

hello up there Slinky and Nina, btw!

Slinky, you wrote: "Beware bought vs brought - past tenses of buy and bring respectively." YES this is a shocking one!

Honestly if you saw some of the things written in patients' notes

*Still don't know how to make this relevant to this thread or to SCD*

Especially as it involves a lotion for nappy rash."

I guess we could always say "Kate Garraway HAD to leave STRICTLY COME DANCING this week since her baby daughter had nappy rash" .........back on topic - vaguely!

Thank you all of you for this lovely discussion - is great to find like-minded people and to find that I am not the only one who is incensed by the above!

back on topic............!

That's why I try not to jump on people for errors. It's easy to forget that not everyone I talk to on here is British by birth and even then it's not really right to criticise because there are all sorts of reasons for bad spelling, grammar, etc. It's not like I've never made a mistake!

I think both you and Aeryn put a lot of native English people to shame with your written English though. (And I'm not just saying that to be polite!)
