Cost of calls for virgin PAYG
Nightdeamon

is it really 35p to call other networks on virgin?

with free voice mail and 10p texts the costs for the calls seem very high.

Yep but if you activate the Free 5 mins of calls a day, you pay for the first 5 mins, then you get the next 5 mins free. Same each day.

You need to register and opt in on "your account" online

What a rubbish offer. A 5-10 minute cross net call will still cost you £1.75. On orange only £1.50 for 10 minutes, 75p for 5 minutes.

I agree with on the air - not the best offer in the world from virgin there. It's even cheaper than that for a 5-10 minutes cross network call on asda - £0.64 for 5 minutes, £1.04 for 10 minutes.

They want you to get other people to join, therefore 15p down to 5p calls and 3p texts

I've been telling them they need to shake up PAYG, but nothing so far. Not a fan of the bonus minutes, cos if you need to use them each day you'd be better off getting a contract

o2 charge 40p. It's outrageous and people should boycott o2 and Virgin until they see sense.

Until recently it only cost 3p per minute to ring one Virgin number from another Virgin number...this offer seems to have been quietly dropped. The new offer requires you to register..not just to register as a customer but you have to opt into this new offer. How many people will bother to do that. Those who dont will still pay the higher rate. Ive been happily with Virgin for years but maybe there are better payg offers elsewhere.....
