How do I skip the ad-breaks on my TUTV Anytime box, that you claim it does?

Well you started an argument FOR the Toppy using an untrue statement. I guess you finally found a way to get people to say bad things about it. Well done.

So I'm being blamed for what other people say now. Thanks! This victimization of me just goes from the sublime to the ridiculous.

How about explaining how the facility to skip the ad-breaks on the TUTV Anytime box works, as you claim it can.

Just to set the record straight, and for the benefit of others, there is some later news on the TF5810 Freeview Playback posted on the toppy site, the bit under the heading "Playback Ahoy":

http://www.toppy.org.uk/static/DTGplayback.shtml

We’ve learned today that Topfield’s Freeview Playback software is presently undergoing testing with the DTG.

I'm very very tempted with this model.

I have a Daewoo PVR, and it's starting to break down.

One question, if I view a recording from the library, can I turn off and on the subtitles?
And, with the PIP, can this be moved to the 4 corners of the tv screen?

Hi

I don't have this model but the older 5800.

I've checked the manual for the 5810 available via the Toppy forum HERE and the answers are.

1. If I view a recording from the library, can I turn off and on the subtitles?

Yes same feature as on the 5800.

2. with the PIP, can this be moved to the 4 corners of the tv screen?

Yes, instructions are listed in the manual.

Hope that helps.

I am an owner of a 5810 and feel that I must warn you of potential problems if you use it "straight out of the box".

I hear you say "How else am I going to use it?".

Well, the current FW (Freeview Playback) has serious faults, mainly missed recordings or failed recordings.

May I suggest that you take a trip over to the Toppy forums and browse. It is possible to patch the FW (which I and others have done) and make the Toppy more reliable. I haven't had a missed/failed recording since I patched my FW.

HTH.
