Which 32" LCD?
Anyone care to help me choose which 32" LCD to buy, I am a bit of a noob when it comes to this HDTV stuff.
So far I have identified four possibles but would, of course, consider all other suggestions. These are: AOC L32W551T AOC L32W581B Emprex LXA-32A100 Hanspree XV32JT01 Mirai DTL-632V200 Mirai DTL-632E500 Your suggestions would be appreciated. Nick |

So what recomendations do you have that are ant better?
It is more a case of what is worth spending, I am only looking because my old CRT has packed-up. Could afford to spend up to £2k on a new TV if necessary but really don't think it is worth spending that sort of money on a television. Especially as I can't go any bigger than 32" because of the room space it has got to fit into. At the moment I am more than happy with the sound I get from the Humax F2-Fox T wired to the HiFi so no improvements necessary there. Most viewing is going to be simple terestrial or via the aformentiond digibox. |

Something with a name is a start, trust me you really will get what you pay for, both in terms of a decent TFT panel being used along with good (if not brilliant) scaling and maybe a usefull feature or two. Cheap is NOT cheerfull in this respect
![]() Try Panasonic Viera TX32LXD700 (or 70, either get good reviews) or Toshiba Regaza 32C3030DB or Samsung LE32M87BDX ALWAYS see it working before buying, even if you later buy on-line. LCDMAN................The man with no sig! |

for the money Hannsprees get great reviews/
http://www.ebuyer.com/product/129151 At £300 it seems to have great sound, response time, OK viewing angles and contrast ratio. (not sure about NTL sound connections!!!!!) Plus has all inputs needed. And 2 year warranty. 3 years would be better but. |

Aftyer reading various reviews I seem to have narrowed it down to either one of the following:
AOC L32W581B Mirai DTL-632E500 But which is likely to be better quality? |

Have you considered a DLP HDTV? You'll get more screen for your money.

I have the Mirai DTL-632V200. It's pretty decent, however it's analogue tuner is rather dire and the sound quality from the TV speakers is poor, but since your connected to a HiFi, that shouldn't matter.

is £550 for a 32" Samsung LE32S86 a decent price? Is that a pretty good 32" LCD?
That's from richersounds.com by the way. |

Have a look at this one:
http://www.onecentre.co.uk/ Sony Bravia 32 KDL32U2000U +Freeview Less than £570 inc delivery - any good? Sainsbury's have a similar one (black not silver not sure on model No.) for £599 - not online though. |

But in general, LCD's and Plasma's don't have very good sound, there isn't the room for decent speakers. |

My mums Samsung of less than a year old's speakers is absolutely apauling! It crackles like mad on a low-medium volume! They HAVE to use the hifi for sound. Apparently she's calling the store she got it from before the 12 month warranty ends to either get a replacement or get an engineer out.
The model number is 32LEsomethingBDX? Got it from PC World, boxing day this year. |

What LCDman is saying is true in regards to cheap is not cheerful, but avoid Samsung, yes I really just did say that & before people who are Samsung fan boys etc start letting rip I have seen alot of tv's. My father inlaw bought the 40 incher that Dixons,Currys (What ever they call themselves now) were doing for £900 with a "free" dvd recorder. I went down to set it up, usual Samsung picture, cold washed out colours with an unobtainable natural skintones (With an RGB sky digi box feed & IXOS award wining scart) so many other complaints that I cant be bothered going into them all. Then the worst part was when I spotted a dead pixel near the top left hand side of the screen. I hear so much hype about the millions they spend on research & development, if this is the end result product wise you may aswell buy grey market mince (But don't!!). Save your money a little more (And don't feel compelled to buy right NOW!) and have a good look around shop showrooms as a bit of a guide.

I was making the point that the scart was not weak link in the set up, Samsungs seem to handle HD game feeds better (No REAL skin colours to worry about!) than RGB standard PAL, maybe they make good monitors (Dont know bout that, anyone?) but their tv's are best when switched off, "o look its black & glossy with a nice standby light" not some thing that I would buy a tv on!!
