Nothing like Coldplay! It sounds a lot like early Verve tracks like Gravity Grave. The McCabe/Ashcroft combination is still amazingly fluent.

It says on youtube:

The Verve's first piece of music to be released...
The Verve's first piece of music to be released in a decade!!!

When they got together again for the first time in 9 years, they met in a recording studio in West London.

Twenty minutes later, they picked up their instruments and started playing.

The result was the Thaw Session! It's a free to download from nme.com
It certainly has that jamming session feel to me. The longer I listened the better it got, theres such a rich and varied layers of sound in this. I think you could listen to it over and over and pick up something different everytime.

Its not a highly polished recording, but because its not it feels very unique and exciting.

Whoever said it sounded like Coldplay, should clean their ears out...
