Can I just say how nice it is to see Brendan turn in to a bit of a softie?

Brendan's always been a softie!! But it's lovely that others are starting to see it!!

I totally agree, I think he is happy to have a hard working, talented partner and dosen't want to do anything to mess it up, so his sweet personality has more of a chance to shine through. How nice it is for someone to create a positive thread about Brendan!

Yeah Brendan is a softie... Just we tend to see his more passionate side then his soft side on SCD...

Totally agree with you frell-tastic...with so many negative threads make a nice change to have a nice Brendan thread!!

The way he looks at Kelly is so sweet - like he really wants to do his best for her and make this a great competition for her.

Yep, though some have misconstrued this as pervy lusting.

Yes of course he is being nice, - he thinks he is in with a chance of winning, that's why. Don't see him complaining about overmarking this year, do we? Wonder why? Talk about hypocritical. The mark of a good professional is how they behave with a celebrity partner with less talent, and I think we all know the answer to that! (Like a spoilt little brat)

It doesn't actually look like that to me - it just looks like he thinks she's fantastic and he's got a great partner and he is going to go all out to keep them in. I think he just thinks she's great and that is reflected in the way he behaves at the moment.

Yes - you are right - the mark of a true professional is an ability to mould even the most hopeless of cases - but just taken in isolation it seems nice he has become a bit softer this year.

agreed - he has a chance of winning this year and he fancies Kelly, that's why he's being 'nice'

he's acted like a spoiled brat the last three years

Brendan always tries his best with all his partners...some have been quite challenging...it's not easy if someone doesn't listen to you and moans constantly. Of course it helps that Kelly wants to be there and wants to dance and do well...it's a better attitude all round!!

Brendan (as I have stated before!) is a lovely teacher and person!

Unfortunately I`am sure we won`t have to wait too long before the Kelly and Brendan bashers arrive.
Personally I believe he knows he`s been given a great partner this year and he`s going to give it 100%.

According to reports he is no softie - so much so that Kelly had to ask him to have a w*** before dancing with her!!!

I really like him though - liked him on love island too

He actually complained about the marking because he felt Camilla was undermarked... It had nothing to do with him and Claire, he was sticking up for Camilla and Ray which was actually a nice thing to do...

Theres lots of overmarking this season, not just him and Kelly...

So you're saying he's only nice to women/people if he fancies them? Brendan is nice to women often without fancying them...so what if he does fancy Kelly...who wouldn't? She's gorgeous

Well at least we now know Brendan does`t need Viagra.

Good point - I had forgotten that.

whether he fancies Kelly or not is actually irrelevant - my point was that he's only nice when he knows he's got a chance - he was horrible to Sarah, Fiona and Claire. What he should have done is had a bit of grace like Darren did when he got Gloria

James was also in my bad books for the same behaviour last year

I can't actually remember seeing him being nasty to Claire... I even remember her being rather lovely to him on ITT... Claire only said he bullied her after they were thrown out... I'm sure if they had, had BIG BIG rows they would have edited into their VT's because of Brendan's badboy image... But I can't actually remember every seeing that...

The problem with Brendan is that he is very nice and "soft" when things are going well, but very quick to lose his temper when he has less able or less enthusiastic partners. Compare this with the grace with which the likes of Erin dealt with the shortcomings of Willie (who spent little time reherasing due to work commitments) or Flavia with that old man last year (I forget his name), or Darren with the way he choreographed routines to compliment Gloria.

If Brendan was kind and caring to a partner who was finishing middle/bottom of the table, then we could commend his attitude.

oh did she, well that's my mistake then - it's just an impression I've had about Brendan, he's been a big baby

but of course that could be the editing

He wasn't horrible...he may have lost his patience because they weren't trying...but I think that's understandable...as a teacher he rightly expects you to give 100% Brendan is passionate and wants to do well...is that so wrong?
Dollystanford
22-10-2007
it's not wrong, but you have to be gracious in victory AND defeat!

The difference this year is that he's got someone who actually WANTS to learn to dance, WANTS to win the show AND is happy to put in the hours required to learn the dances properly, which is more than Fiona, Sarah and Claire wanted to do - for them it was either a bit of fun or a vehicle towards their next job, no wonder he lost patience with them.
