Straightening Hair - Males?
NeverInDoubt
23-10-2007
I have short hair. I want to find a way to straighten it! It's very wavy, fuzzy and annoying! Almost afro-Caribbean like. I've seen a few celebs with it done I was wondering if anyone knows best/easiest/quickest way to do it? Are their balms available? Would straighteners work on such short hair?

Thanks!

nnoooo - don't do it - the boyband look is out (allegedly)
If you insist there are lots of sprays and serums - spray before you straighten to protect the hair and serum to hold and shine afterwards......(Tresemme are good)

I have used my ghd on my boyf's best mates hair, as he has very very very curly hair and we wanted to see how long it would look when it was straight. GHD worked great on it, only took a few mins.

I used to get my hair straightened, but never bothered with the spray. I shaved my hair off now though.. was down past middle of my back after 2 years of growing it.

I use TRESemmé Heat Defence Spray if I straighten my hair.

You need the smaller hair straightners - don't buy the normal sized ones as they are for long hair. You won't be able to anything with them at all.

I use GHD's. My hair sounds fairly similar to yours and I don't have one of those boyband hair styles either. I just uses them to keep my hair under control. With very short hair, you'll find that straightners will cause the hair to be more spikey looking - so you'll need a wax or gel also.

These are the ones to go for (in terms of size) http://www.salonlines.co.uk/male-gro...-straightener/

There are cheaper brands about.

You could try that boots straighening treatment, I think it's about £15 then you wouldn't have to buy straighteners.

They are more expensive, but after using them your hair feels soft and smooth, not fried and crispy like it can when using cheaper ones.

You can get them for about £70 now if you shop around.
