I've been more than happy with my T810 box and I thought it would be nice to buy a PVR for my folks for Christmas.

With all the accurate recording issues (and other bugs) with the T816 boxes, I think they would really struggle with one of these. Given their age, they would need something simple and reliable - a T810 with single record and standard timer padding would meet their needs perfectly.

I'd rather not get them a refurbed box - it would be a pressie after all - so I'm wondering if anyone knows of any retailers still selling them at reasonable prices.

John Lewis are still expensive on it. I am fairly sure it is the T810 model.

Asda still have loads in my local store

Makro are currently selling the Grundig GUSTB160IV for £99.99 + VAT (£117.49), which is a bit better than the £149 wanted by John Lewis. I am fairly sure that the model description 'GUDST1601V' is a typographical error on the JL website.
I have the Grundig version and mine at least is a T810. Very stable. Find it easier to use than my Humax, though the Humax is superior.
Grundig is all black and looks better, in my opinion, than the other clones, but other clones are rather cheaper.
