SCD "Annual" 2008

Just noticed (in the very small print) of this weeks "Woman" magazine, under the title "guilty pleasure" an advert for the SCD book of 2008.

The picture shown to advertise it, had all last years celebs on the front. So I'm not sure whether it'll be like last years "new" one, where they just rehashed the previous years one.

Anyhoo, it is on sale from BBC Books from October 25th.......

PS - O/T In "Closer" this week, Gethin, Matt and Kenny all dress up as dance heroes "Johnny" from Dirty Dancing, Fred Astaire and John Travolta. If I knew how to work the computer properly I'd add the pics also.........

I've been assuming all along that the cover artwork would be updated for 2008.

Me too! I mean why on earth put a book out this year with Georgina, Ray, Claire etc, etc, etc on the cover, when its all new people??

BBC being blooming well lazy, I bet that this years couples are stuck in about 10 pages from the back With virtually no information about them whatsoever.

Never mind.........we can read about this years celebs in 2009!

Info from "Play.com"

"Strictly Come Dancing" has become the nation's favourite Saturday-night TV show, regularly reaching audiences of over 10 million and parking three generations firmly in front of the small screen. Just like the show, the Annual will provide all-round entertainment for the whole family with a fabulous array of features, including exclusive interviews with this year's celebrities, a visit behind the scenes with Claudia Winkleman, a look back at how each of the four Champions danced their way to victory plus a special report on US equivalent Dancing with the Stars. Our Strictly The Best Awards will announce winners in ten major categories including Best Outfit, Most Astonishing Transformation, Best Hairstyle and Most Argumentative. There'll also be quizzes, stats and never-before-seen photos of tears, tantrums and triumphs, a fun, step-by-step specially photographed Strictly Come Dancercise routine for a ballroom workout at home, and much much more.Published to coincide with the start of Series 5 in October, the official Annual will be whisked away by every Strictly Come Dancing fan in the house.

I've just got it. It's OK but a pretty poor effort of an annual I think! They could have made it so much better.

So far, not a great recommendation guys. Think I'll wait until some more reviews come in before I part with my cash.

Nothing about the professionals? How pathetic? I didn't think the BBC were stupid enough to think the hard core fans watch it for the celebs, they don't, it's all about the pro dancers in my eyes.

I bet I'll still end up getting it in some way.

So what is the new book like? I heard that it is not just Darren and Lilia showing the steps anymore but also some of the others pros.

Wow, the BBC have excelled themselves.

In the annual, Camilla's partner last series was Ray Mears apparently.

Not alot of difference between a survival guy and an actor!

Does it say that?! Really?!

I'm sorry but the quiz is pathetic ...

What Olympic event did Colin Jackson win a Silver Medal in? I don't care, this is supposed to be about SCD.

The "interview" with Natasha was hardly new either, they just quoted things she'd said on the show. They really hate referring to series one for some reason.

I looked at it in WHSmiths today. It seemed to think it was £12.99.I had a flick through it and decided it wasn't worth the money so put it back.
I won't pay that much for something that will spend of it's life on a shelf!lol.
