3G portable Internet device - does one exist?

I'm looking for an light, portable Internet device that I can use on the bus or train etc.

As GPRS is really slow and Wi-Fi is only really available in pubs/bars etc that have a hotspot, I was wondering if it's possible to buy a 3G device (3G is much faster than GPRS and covers about 80% of the UK).

Does such a device exist or is the closest thing buying something like the Nokia N800 and bluetoothing it to a 3G mobile phone?

N95 supports 3G and is as portable as you can hope for.

I would suggest this and a 3G Bluetooth phone.

Yes, it's a bit pricey!!!

My workplace bought us all these, but no-one uses them out of the office because they're too "inbetween"... too big to carry round in your pocket, but not big enough to be worthy of carring a laptop style bag round...

there the nokia internet tablet - lots of phones like the N95 mentioned above - laptops with usb 3G modems available from 3 and others.

Make sure you look out for a device with HSDPA to make the 3G fast.

I wish I'd read this thread before I bought my Sony Ericsson K800i phone.

I'm in the process of dumping my k800i after having nothing but trouble with them (had 6 in the last 12 months), and getting a touch dual delivered as soon as they're released on the 1st
