Marcus and Karen Hilton

I wonder if the Hiltons could be lured out of retirement to give a demonstration at the Christmas show, if we have one. They were the World Professional Modern Champions for a record nine years, were awarded the MBE by the Queen, and are generally considered to be the greatest modern ballroom dancers in history. They concentrate on teaching and judging nowadays but maybe they would enjoy getting dressed up one last time and putting on a show. I would like to see them do once round the floor in all four dances - waltz, tango, foxtrot and finishing with their speciality the quickstep.

I doubt they would but it would be brilliant if they did, fantastic dancers

Well, they were coaxed to Quickstep twice in May this year, so if they were asked . . . you never know!

I can only hope! Not only wonderful dancers but lovely friendly people too. They are absolute legends.

Seem to remember they were around at the same time as Donnie Burns & Gaynor Fairweather

Yep. Donnie, Gaynor, Sammy, Barbara, Marcus, Karen Kenny and Marion all performed at the Team Match at the British Open this year. The reaction from the crowd was out of this world - I've never seen anything like it!

They were also World Amateur Latin Champions and switched to Ballroom only when they turned pro there are not many couples that can claim that. As well as being great people those really were the days

They used to come to our local ballroom (the Ritz in Brighouse, West Yorkshire) on practice nights, and it could be unnerving being on the floor with them, especially in the quickstep. They would whizz past us at about 30mph.
Sometimes they would put on a show with David Sycamore and Denise Weavers - are they still going?

I do remember those two from the Come Dancing days although I cannot remember the Hiltons. In those days I could take it or leave it and was not so in love with a programme as Strictly. I would love to see one of them as judges on Strictly, and lose one of Craig, Arlene or Bruno. I'm sure all the pro dancers would listen to them with utmost respect.

Never heard of any of the above, probably because the programme/dancing didn't have as high a profile as it does now (don't all shout at once) However, I'll be guided by you lot and would love to see them - so if someone from the Beeb is on the forum - please sign them up ASAP.

I can't image they would come out of 'retirement' to perform on the show but it's a nice thought
