Love this song but isn't it too slow for the samba?”

Maybe it's for Kate's samba. She can walk through it, wearing her orthopedic shoes.

Are they going to tap to that song too?

I think Straighten up and Fly Right might be chosen by Lilia for Dom.

Michael Bublé's 'album' version is a little more uptempo, which sounds better and should be a better tempo for AS...

Makin' Whoopee will suit Alesha and Matt!

"These boots are made for walking" must be for an AS, surely it can't be used for a samba, unless it's a different version to the original! Penny said she's wearing boots for her samba so maybe she's dancing to a samba-fied version of it!

Top Hat, White Tie And Tails - Tony Bennett
Stay With Me - Deborah Bonham
(Love Is) The Tender Trap - Frank Sinatra

For Once In My Life - Michael Buble
Straighten Up And Fly - Robbie Williams

Hmmm..... quite hard to divide up, but I reckon:

Samba:
Eso Beso
More Than A Woman
Mujer Latina
Dancing Queen
For Once In My Life

American Smooth:
(Love Is) The Tender Trap
Top Hat, White Tie and Tails (never heard of this, but love the title!)

No idea about the others!

Loving the songs in Spanish though!!! Now if only they'ld do some Cha-Chas and Rumbas in Spanish as well!”

Never heard of this ..............

I just can't hear "These boots are made for walking" as an Samba song, nor "More than a woman".

Hmmmm liking some of those choices but others I dont think will make that much of an impact.
I wonder who's using Mujer Latina though, great samba song!
Dancing Queen? That does not sound like either an AS or Samba, what is that pro thinking I wonder...?

I think Dancing Queen might be Anton and Kate. He was going to use that for his samba with Jan. But they were knocked out the week before!

It might be actually, I think Darren and Lilia have used it for their exhibitions before.

Top Hat, White Tie and Tails THE ultimate music for American Smooth - originally a Fred Astaire number and why do they put Emma Bunton for Esso Besso ??? it's not as if they use HER track

Dancing Queen has been used on several dance cd's as a samba and it is good - though wonder if the awful band on SCD will play it well

After seeing the training footage, Penny and Ian might be dancing their Samba to These Boots are Meant for Walking (lots of catwalks in their training)...

Hmmm...?

I love Dancing Queen I think it'll make a great samba. Campest samba ever though!

I hope Makin' Whoopee is Alesha and Matthew's I think it'll make a great AS.

I've turned over a new leaf criticising the Band, now I know they only get the music on the Saturday afternoon, and have only about 4 hours to rehearse all the songs for that night!

Talk about penny pinching BBC but spending fortunes elsewhere!

Does anybody know the names of the 4 singers? Do they really get the music 4 hours before the show, because that's absolutely crazy...! I suppose though, they're professionals, and they have the music/words there in front of them... but all the harmonies and that..... that's nuts!

Point taken, it just seems like an exceptionally weird/camp choice... It'd be a slow samba though wouldn't it?

I'm sure the 'never heard of it' folk will recognise it when they hear it

Or perhaps the rest of us are just VERY old !!

What fantastic AS songs. Michael Buble will definatley be an AS. He is my fav at the moment.

Not sure on the samba choices - I would rather have traditional songs for that.
