Check out the thread about the Band - one of them posted in there twice.

Not sure about the Singers, surely they get the song choices during the week to learn them and practise?

Think the AS songs all sound very good. Whoever is dancing to 'White Tie and Tails' will sail through to next week. Very worried by the Samba choices, especially after the horrible songs for the tango.

Out of interest, do you think anyone has ever done a really successful dance to a really horrible song - I don't mean 'I thought that song wouldn't work but actually it did', I mean 'the song was horrible but I still loved the dance'? For me, if the song doesn't create the mood and rhythm, I don't have enough understanding of the dance to see past that.

I can't think of any from SCD but in DWTS season 2, Drew and Cheryl had to tango to "Shut Up" by the Black Eyed Peas. I enjoyed the dance, but not the song.

I agree. I really could not enjoy Brendan and Kelly's Tango because the music was just so wrong. It lost all the drama.

Interestingly, they later showed a clip of it with different background music (on ITT i think) and it just seemed so much better.

The only example I can think of is a professional dance. Last year I absolutely adored Matthew and Nicole's rumba to Ronan Keating singing this I Promise You. Normally I can't stand Ronan, he makes my ear want to bleed. But as soon as Matthew and Nicole start dancing I barely notice the song.

Also last week in DWTS most of the Paso songs were hideous and I still was able to enjoy the dancing.

Here's one of the choices I recognized (some I didn't)

well quite honestly i think anyone would have a job singing those songs!!they are absolutely awful and hats off to the girl for doing a good job. The different variety of songs range up to maybe 2 - 3 octaves, for one of the singers to be able to switch from pop to jazz to ballad etc ,has got to be top class. most artistes have songs written to suit their vocal range and for the four singers to learn pos 12 songs and harmonies in a vast vocal range in such a short time have got to be good!!

I did this too - i just saw the op saying Emma Bunton and thought i must have clicked on the wrong thread

Anyway i don't recgonise all the songs but i think it sounds a good line up. I really like Michael buble just now so i think that was a good choice

Found the Sinatra's original version: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TGe0uOHS1S8

Ignore the X-Files clips they are showing, though...

Also, the 'studio' version of Michael's take on 'For Once in my Life': http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2uDu6qA_JBQ

I'm puttin' on my top hat,
Tyin' up my white tie,
Brushin' off my tails.
I'm dudin' up my shirt front,
Puttin' in the shirt studs,
Polishin' my nails,
I'm steppin' out, my dear,
To breathe an atmosphere
That simply reeks with class;
And I trust that you'll excuse my dust
When I step on the gas,
For I'll be there,
Puttin' down my top hat,
Mussin' up my white tie,
Dancin' in my tails.

Ahhhhh I feel better now

Penny was talking about having long boot things for her samba - so I'm plumping for "These boots are make for walking" for Penny and Ian.

Anyone else?

...as was the case when someone posted once that how deep is your love was by take that.
the case for saying it might have been the take that 'version' really needs no answer!

Got to be ~ it really couldn't be a samba (although some of the choices on this show... )

Ditto on "These Boots...." ~ not feeling it at all!

Love this! Once did a great tap show dance to this with silver top hats, black tail coats with silver lapels, silver bow ties and silver topped canes

It's one of my happiest memories (and I can still remember most of the routine, five years on!)

Not a fan but I want everyone's time on SCD to be fantastic so (even though I think Kelly will get it) my heart wants Letitia to dance to 'Top Hat' - with her love of tap and acting experience - it could be her dance!
