Bruce Forsyth at 80

Bruce tuns 80 on Friday, February 22, 2008.

Does anybody know of plans to celebrate his big day?

Will he be doing his one-man show at the Palladium?

How do you think the nation should celebrate the life of this extraordinary octoganerian entertainer?

My mother who was 80 in March this year , swears he is older by 1-2 years as she knew his first wife and met him a few times .
But then again time may be playing tricks on her ?

Wow! he's doing well for his age! I mean I knew he was old, and I suppose he looks physically old - but he has a lot of 'life' in him... if that makes sense.

He comes across as more youthful.

I saw his wife on tv with him the other day - some show about Las Vegas. She looks many, many years younger than him, but they looked happy.

Yes, his wife Wilnelia is a lot younger than him. Wasn't she a former Miss World?

I wonder how Bruce would look without the wig? You would imagine at 80 he would say to hell with it, and go au natural.

why should he get rid of the wig just cos he's 80? I think, whatever age you are, its nice to have a bit of pride and want to look your best. Why should you neglect yourself and not take pride in your appearance just because you reach an older age?

Keep wearing the wig Brucie - however silly it looks. Just couldn't imagine him without it.

What's wrong with being bald?
You seem to be saying bald men who don't wear wigs are neglecting themselves.
There you go , generalising again

Moonie,

Just a serious question...Do you deliberatly antagonise cetain people or is it a talent.

I love it so keep it up.

P.S. I think any man who wears a wig needs his head looking at... in a different manner.....

Nature wise, we are what we are. It's almost as bad as women injecting botox in their faces or have silicon implants......a complete turn off.

Brucie really should call it a day.....yawn:yawn::yawn::yawn:

I think its a natural talent!

And Bruce should never give up presenting if he enjoys it! The BBC could give him a broom cuboard with a mirror and he could talk to himself for as long as he wants - its a crime that they actually inflict him on us!

Instead of bickering about baldness, could we return to the question hand!

Does anybody know of plans to celebrate Bruce's 80th birthday and what would you propose?

I hope the BEEB put on a tribute show for him - I think he has been an excellant entertainer over the years - I grew up watching Bruce

I've just started watching SCD this year and Brucies still got it. All those years of TV presenting experience have made him a master of his art. Happy 80th Birthday Brucie for next year. Haven't you done well, my love.

Admittedly Brucie's getting a little long in the tooth and some of the younger fans may not appreciate his sense of humour but he's my favourite. The man's a legend!

I hope I'm as sprightly when I get to 80.

Glad that this is a positive thread to Bruce Forsyth. I think we should do more of them - so tired of all the negativity aimed at him.

Hey TonyBlair - I don't aim to antagonise people at all - I just speak my mind and don't believe in pussyfooting around. That's what you and I have in common! I say it as it is - thats why Anne Widdecombe is my favourite politician. But, this thread is about Brucie and long may he reign.

Great thread.

I really can't imagine someone else presenting this show. Brucie is sort of like part of the furniture. I also find it amazing how well he is at 80, wouldn't mind getting old like that.
