I love jiving to Jump Jive and Wail, it's the bestest jive song ever.

In my dreams, I'd like to do an American Smooth style thing to Cheek to Cheek, although I can't decide if I prefer the Fred Astaire version or the Ella Fitzgerald one, but I think I'll plump for Ella's.

A Samba to Maria From Bahia played by the Empress Orchestra, with Paul Killick, in the Empress Ballroom, Blackpool.

Well, I am allowed to dream.

If I had my way only traditional music should ever be used for the Argentine tango and Paso. But (especially because I love some of the songs) I'd love to:

Jive to the Coral's Dreaming of you
Cha cha to Scissor Sisters Kiss You Off
Waltz to Seal's Kiss from a rose
Tango to The One's Flawless
Do a freestyle showdance to Roxy Music's More than this
Rumba to Kenny Roger's Lady
Salsa to Shakira and Wyclef's Hips don't lie
Samba to Ricky Martin's Maria
Quickstep to Let's face the music and dance by Irving Berlin

...Waltz to So She Dances by Josh Groban with Anton
...Jive to Tutti Frutti by Little Richard with Matt Cutler
...Jive to La Traviesa by Misseigo (sp) with Brendan
... Quickstep to Tu Vuo'Fa L'americano by The Puppini Sisters with Anton or Vincent

I thought Matt and Lilia did their Foxtrot with the song Moondance??? They got pretty good score too!

I know what you mean, Darren and Vincent are the only guys short enough to be able to dance with me.

Another choice would be is a Quickstep or Jive to Are You Gonna Be My Girl by Jet

Oh and happy birthday for tomorrow dancingbearbear!

"Top hat, white tie and tails" ~ maybe this explains why some people weren't recognising it on the music thread, as they think it's called "putting on my top hat"?

I think an AS to Singin' In the Rain would be nice; and I'd like to waltz to Silent Night on Christmas Eve..I think that would be magical.

Aw, thanks!

We had Ella's version of "You're the top" following it too, as the register signing took quite a while because of all the photos etc.

Followed by something from Star Wars (The Throne room, i think ~ like I'd know!) at the husband's insistence.

Actually none of our wedding music was slow and romantic and ballady, cos thats not really 'us' ~ it was all upbeat and jolly.
