Keane - The Night Sky
Hi all.
Hope you all know Keane have a new single out on monday 29 october "The Night Sky". This is a charity record and deserves to do well , but it is also in my opinion the best song Keane have done since the hopes and fears album. Watch the video here http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=-Q5vEP41ZfY Info below is taken from keanemusic.com We're very pleased to announce that Keane will release 'The Night Sky' on 29th October 2007, through Island Records, to raise money for the UN Award winning charity War Child. The single will also be available to download exclusively from 22nd October 2007, at 'The Night Sky', produced by Keane and Andy Green, is written from a child's perspective about the war-torn devastation around them. Keane became patrons of War Child in 2006 to help raise money for children caught up in conflict and post conflict areas. Their work continues with the release of this exclusive single, and also marks the beginning of a campaign to raise money for War Child's plight to help future generations affected by war. "War Child is an award winning charity that works to protect marginalised children - street children, child soldiers and children in prison - in places like Iraq, Afghanistan and the Democratic Republic of Congo. As patrons of War Child, Keane are fantastic supporters of our work. Everyone who downloads Keane's brilliant new single, 'The Night Sky', will be helping to protect children in some of the worst war zones in the world." War Child CEO Mark Waddington "We are very proud to be patrons of War Child. One child dies every three minutes because of armed conflict, and all of us can do something about it. War Child do something quite extraordinary and unique in helping to make the lives of future generations better, we hope everyone wants be a part of that. If you're interested in learning about this magnificent cause, then please go to warchildmusic.com." Tom Chaplin The tracklisting is as follows: CD 1. The Night Sky 2. Under Pressure 3. Put It Behind You Now (Ffrisco Mix) Limited 7" (with free print) A. The Night Sky B. I just meant you'll see very little interest around here in anyone who hasn't won a TV talent show or been in the papers for catfights with other celebrities.
God forbid anyone actually take any interest in real musicians for a change. Anyone else got an opinion on the song - good/bad ? Lee. |

Brilliant song. Deserves to be no.1 . I was lucky enough to see them 4 yrs ago supporting Shack in Brighton in front of about 30 people! I knew then they would make it big. Shame it never quite happened for Shack though. Brilliant band who really deserve more recognition.

The music you listen to might be , as you put it "Utter Shite" but who am i to judge what turns you on. I started this thread to gage opinions on a song (Have you even heard it) that happens to be Keane and that is for a worthy cause. Never mind "X Factor" is on tonight , that might be more your cup of tea. |

Their version of under pressure is brilliant too. Very true to the original.

Sounds pretty good to me on first listen, the start sounds a bit like 'Atlantic' imo. It will almost certainly grow on me as
well. |

In fairness, it hasn't been heavily publicised.
