Using DVI Input on a Projector for HD

I have borrowed an HD compatible projector with only a DVI input. taking my BBC HD output from my Pace Satellite Receiver on an HDMI lead and through an HDMI to DVI convertor results in no picture. Is this an HDCP problem? Is there any way round it?

No problem using a HDMI to DVI cable (or adaptor) so the assumption must be that the projector does not support HDCP on the DVI input and/or a 50hz signal on the DVI.

Thanks for that - sadly it what I feared, pity as the projector produces a wonderful picture!
