I don't seem to be able to add any event on the calendar...

I think I have read somewhere that you're supposed to do that remotely from a computer... how? iTunes doesn't have a calendar as far as I know so how so you synch your iPod calendar???

When you iPod is connected to iTunes go to the Settings tab (with your ipod selected in the left hand window) - you can then select which calendar you want iTunes to sync to your ipod.

The Touch is read-only though, so you can't add/amend directly from the iPod itself

when you first get the ipod it has firmware 1.0.1 which allows adding of calendar entries but some reason 1.1.1 update removed this feature, thanks to jailbreak I got my calendar features back

Jailbreak your iPod - once you've done it, there's a fix for that issue.

The iPod touch has never been able to edit calendar entries. In fact, the iPod touch launched with version 1.1.1 of the firmware so I am not sure where your facts are from.

I don't actually have one ; i'll just give you my source, which is clearly wrong. (maybe Apple have announced it, but not released it yet).

Apparently, even though it says there is no update you can click the restore button and it'll update to 1.1.2 which has the editable calendar.

Alternatively, go to jailbreakme.com on your iphone/ipod touch, follow the instructions. Once that's done - go to installer and there is a program somewhere which adds the functionality (and many other apps) to your ipod.

*Note: I take no responsibility for any problems. I've used this myself and it's fine, many others have also!

to get the update (this will involve wiping the ipod) huck ipod up to pc and itunes hold down sleep and home key the ipod will eventually turn off, keep them held down and when you see the apple logo let go of the sleep button only eventually you will get itunes logo and usb wire on your touch screen.

iTunes will go on about a ipod in recovery mode, click restore then click again in itunes to restore then again restore and update (I know annoying why so many confirm to updates lol) iTunes till download the new update and restore your iPod to 1.1.2

Apparently it was a "bug".
They should fix it soon.

There's an update on iTunes now which enables events to be added to the calendar.
