In the past she has made really slick music videos. So why does her video for 'Gimme More' or whatever its called, look like its been filmed on a 50p budget?

The whole thing looks like its been filmed on a camcorder and put together on windows movie maker.

Amazing song just a very poor video, imo yet another publicity stunt plus the fact she's trying to move away from the whole choreographed dance routine.

Maybe they're trying to make her more "gritty" and "edgy"- or perhaps she's trying to save money. Or maybe she just can't be bothered.

The song isn't bad though. It sounds much better than that godawful MTV Video Music Awards performance suggested.

For me that live performance was another dig at the 'I dont want to do another choreographied dance routine ever again'

The video was obviously just another attempt by her and the label to create more controversy and exposure.

Its a poor video. Her record company haven't put enough thought into it.

The song is crap too. What happened to the good pop she used to do? Why do all these singers feel the need to go down the crummy R'n'B route?

It's Timbaland and to suggest it's 'crap' makes yourself look tasteless. He's MADE artists.

Wasn't the video arranged by Britney and also self funded?

I love the song, the production is top-notch and it sounds amazing blasted on the Hi-Fi. Easily one of the best songs of her career.

Erm no, I just happen to have different tastes to you

You might be surprised to know that not everyone likes the same thing.

I love how people try and defend Britney, the drug adled, knicker flashing, drunken woman who cannot even look after her own kids properly. Ive always thought Christina has more talent in her little finger. Funny how she has turned out well adjusted and Britney is a wreck.

Then perhaps you shouldn't have entered this thread in the first place? You clearly just wanted to stir things.

Erm, I started this thread!

I am disapointed that she has turned her back on the feel good pop that she is best known for in favour of this garbage. She's sounds like all the other vacuouse pop Princess's that are around today, i.e Rhianna etc.

I Love how rather than commenting on her music, people bring in her private life as a way to needlessly attack her.

Don't like the music, fine, thats your opinion, but its quite sad if you let someones personal life influence your taste in music.

The video is dire though, Looking back at her past videos, they all seem to have custom built sets, wide shots and not too many close ups. This is the problem with the Gimme More video imo, its too close to her, no wide shots just her dancing (not too well) in a grotty club.

Love the tune though

The reason I have brought in her private life is because I think she needs to sort herself out before she even attempts a comeback. She's clearly got alot of issues and needs serious help.

I mean is she seriousley going to be able to promote this new material in the state she is in?

Im wondering which one will die first, Britney, Amy Winehouse or Pete Doherty? I know that sounds awful, but I honestly think this is where its heading with Britney.

Well she seems to have only done one public performance (and not a good one at that) of 'Gimme More' and it's doing really well in the charts so I don't think she has to worry about promotion.

Yes, that does sound awful.

It's cheap looking because she had to pay for it herself apparently.

Yeah I was shocked at the standard of the video. I mean all it is is her sliding and swinging up and down a pole. Very boring and very cheap looking. Its a shame coz its not that bad a song. But if she had to pay for it herself then I guess its understandable.

Why did she pay for the video herself? I always thought the bigger the star the more money the record comapny spent on things like videos?
