I don't know if Kelly has watched many SCD's, so she may not be aware of Brendon's previous run ins with the judges over rule breaking. Besides Brendon is mister know it all. I bet he would just ignore any criticism's from a novice learner, when he seems to treat the judges with such contempt.

i've never liked brendan and i've been watching since series one. why on earth they keep asking the idiot back is beyond me.

personally, i don't think he's clever enough to do 3 lifts on purpose to get extra publicity.

also, i will controversly say i don't rate him as a dancer. why there are threads of we love brendan i have no idea.

I think it was quite telling when they were showing clips beforehand of Brendan basically ignoring Kelly's input and then her saying something along the lines of she wants her opinion heard - has she not seen him before? When Brendan is there he is in charge, end of, and heaven forbid anyone argue with him.

She's lucky he fancies her.

But certainly, from her comments, she knew the lifts were illegal and it was stupid with her to not argue against it more.

It was really unfair to give them a 10. As the other judges said, Rules are Rules, 8 was a fair score, 9 would be a bit much, but 10!

I missed all of this as my 5 month old was crying at the time. What did he do that was so wrong?

Brendan will never change. He did the same thing last year but got away with it. I agreed that the judges should have marked him down. All of them were consistant except for Bruno. Would that be allowed in a regular dance competition, what Bruno did that is.

He wasn't let off last year was he him and Claire got poor marks every week anyway ... Wasn't he called a prawn head last year for doing it ...

Yeah - when I saw that first lift I just said out loud 'He's going to do three lifts - because thats a pathetic lift if you've only got two'.

If it had been a fantastic out-of-this-world lift I can understand him wanting to do it - even though she still couldn't because its not fair on everybody else and is just cheating - but for that ridiculously pointless lift? What was the point?

I'm not entirly sure. I know a few of their dances were marked low but I thought it was because they were rubbish. ( The dances not them). He and Claire did go quite far so they obviously didn't punish him enough.

Was thinking about this last night - Brendan must think that he's gaining fans by doing that lift - I wonder if he sees people are frustrated that he won't continue to pull stunts (although that lift barely registers as a stunt - more of a pull slightly off the ground!) like this and get back to the dancing!

Could have been such a fab routine and straight tens!

I said excatly the same thing! I just knew he wouldnt waste a lift on a supported leg kick.

Some of the professionals faces backstage were a sight to behold -Matt Cutler did NOT look pleased when the 10 was dished out and who can blame him.

Yeah - I saw a couple of the looks from the ones behind him!

The thing is they SAID it would have been worth a ten and then they should have (in my opinion) given even lower scores (brunos ten was ridiculous - ten is for perfect and they all said that lift made it NOT perfect!) then they did - just so that Brendan could realise that Kelly is capable of getting tens and it HIM that is driving down the scores!

It's just boring now. Why does he think he's doing the audience some kind of favour by putting in a third lift?? We can appreciate good dancing Brendan, we don't need lifts to get into a routine.

Why does he think he should be entitled to do an extra move? Can you imagine Brendan's reaction if another couple put in an illegal move and the judges gave them a ten? He'd throw a strop. It's quite unfair and disrespectful to the other couples IMO.

Bruno is just an idiot.

I used to like Bruno but I do think in general this year he's been a bit ott - Len's reaction to him on Saturday after Alesha's dance shows perhaps they are getting tired of his company after all the transalantic flights!

I'm with some of the others. As much as I adore Brendan - he was wrong to do the 3 lifts. But Kelly knew what she was doing - she seemed to be pushing him all the way to make the routine as exciting as possible and was quite aware of the rules. No sympthay for Kelly from me.

Bruno and the scores - can't say I'm surprised considering what him and Len get up to in the states. Only a few weeks ago did Len and Bruno ignore illegal lifts

Illegal lift or not, that routine did not deserve any 10s. Saying without the lift they would have got a 10 is like saying without Joe Bloggs making that mistake during a roll or spin they would have got a 10. In dancesport, theoretically everyone starts at 10 and people marked downwards as they make mistakes, and the 8s they got reflected their performance.

Anyway really don't care if they gets straight 10 every night, the voting public are the ones to worry about.

Even if she was pushing him to do it he is the proffessional and therefore responsible for the choerography. Also the first lift hardly made the dance more exciting.

You have a very good point here. I don't think four '10's at this stage in the competition would have done Kelly any favours. It's going to be hard for any of the girls to compete with Matt and Gethin as the competition goes on. despite appearances, Brendon isn't stupid.

I just dont get why he would put in an assissted leg kick and use up a lift> He could have put something far more exciting in if he was planning to break the rules. Perhaps he thought he would be more likely to get away with it if it wasnt so obvious.

Indeed, on the RBC Philip JKackson had been doing his intro when the lift took place and missed it -Erin had to point out to him that there had been 3 lifts.

Also, am I crazy or did Kate and Anton do a lift as well and it was blatantly ignored?
