This man shouldn't be fit to judge. He's a complete laughing stock and a joke. He overmarks and is just an embarassment. He gave 7 to the worst dance - when everyone else gave 3 or 4. He's a laughing stock and shouldn't be on the panel. The scores he gave tonight were completely and utterly ridiculous. He's a national joke.

He has changed since he went to America for their version of the show.

Tell us what you really think Moonglow I don't think that he is a "National Joke" I do, however, think that he was been well and truly slapped by the "American stick"

The marks if you watch Dancing with the Stars are just mad. Dances that would receive a 3 here are getting 7's. I think also that he tries to be (sometimes) the "Anti-Craig"

Whenever other judges are harsh, he gets a big cheer by dishing out higher scores. Bruno is another case in point, as he does the same.

Quite possibly the judging panel should have a "shake-up" for next series. There is no way marking should differ so much. I realise that they are all looking at different things, Craig/Bruno for performance, Arlene for choreography, and Len for technical, but as an overall performance the marks should be roughly the same.......Or am I completely wrong??

Not be the first time

I don't mind Len,...that idiot Bruno should be banned from SCD.

Bruno is a real dick, most of the time.

I'm afraid that I don't agree with you moonglow. Len is not a joke, he does overmark sometimes, but I also think that he takes into account the celebreties are not professional dancers where as the others don't.

Bruno is a complete prawnhead and should be kicked off

He gave Kate a 6. I was sure I saw that. Didn't he? Well he must have had a reason. She must have done something right, or even something. I must have blinked and missed it.

Totally agree. And he's playing Craig in the US show!

Moonglow, when Bruno gives a 10 you complain about Len? Not for the first time, I disagree with you but then you thrive on antagonising people on DS, don't you?

i dont think so. Bruno and Arlene need to be gotton rid of. they both do my head in.

I love Len, although i felt he overmarked a few of the dance's tonight, but generally, i find him to be a good judge.

Craig, although verging on a bit too bitchy at times like Arlene is every time she opens her mouth, is normally fair and what he says is normally true. he was a bit harsh on some of his judging tonight...actually all the judges had their bad moments tonight.

His scores are often too high. I didn't hear the comments this week but saw he gave Penny a 9. But Bruno needs to learn to shut up let Len speak. No wonder Len gets p-ed off

If any of the judges are a joke its Bruno with a 10! Do you not think thats over marking then?!

Moonglow I don't see how you can call someone who is one of the best dance teachers around and has won so many competitions in his day a national joke.

Bruno and Arlene are the joke.

Len doesn't get personal and he tries to encourage the celebs.

Bruno and Arlene are the worst judges - just plain embarrasing most of the time.

If they bother with another series perhaps a completely new panel would be a good idea.

I think he did it for two reasons:

1 - to give her a bit of encouragement and reward her improvement as her biggest hurdle seems to be the fact she now thinks she's hopeless when she could probably improve with a bit of confidence

2 - to get rid of her. The sooner the judges are nicer to her, the sooner she goes.

Len used to be honest with the judging but he has eventually come to realise that the best way to get the worst dancers out in the early stages of the comp is not to slate them and give them an (appropriately) low score as it galvanises the public a sympathy vote or sadist vote or whatever.

Best way to get people out is to get them in the middle of the scoreboard and separate the worst with having a set or two of equal scores which makes it very difficult for them to leapfrog.

So fear Len's 6s presented with a benign smile

Actually I don't think Len is a joke. I think he gave the 6 to Kate to encourage her, and to discourage the British public to vote for her on a mere sympathy vote.

I think he also realised that the woman needs encouragement, and that the other judges would mark her down heavily. I think both Arlene and Bruno are the bigger jokes. Bruno for giving 10's when rules are obviously broken (how clever is that) and Arlene for giving no constructive but contrived comments (how long did she work on the dancing quail comment, I wonder).

I've tried looking up Lens history, but from what I have found, he doesn't seem to have won that much on a National/International scale.

Now if we had Karen as a Judge (or is that Judgess), it would make an old man very happy.

When I think that Arlene is my generation, it makes me cringe.

Bring on the chicks I say and pension off the rest of the judges....

He is noted most prominently for his achievements in Exhibition dancing. He's a former British champion and World finalist in the discipline.

I would like to know the dates and the competition.

I cannot find any mention of the contests he has reputedly won at this level.

I think all the judges have good qualities.

I have absolutely no idea! It was way before my time, a good 30 years ago at least.

All I can tell you is the British is always held in Blackpool, and always has been.

Nowadays the World is held in Holland (I'm going myself in two weeks to watch the competition.) but am not sure if it has always been this way.
