To me, he's kinda like Chico with a voice. Both great performers that were/are the talking point of their respective X Factors. Just as X Factor 2 would have been a bit dull without Chico. XF4 would be a bit dull without Rhyd. Rhyd's performances are totally overblown, camp, and almost verging on comedy at times. But you just can't help but watch him!

The guy knows how to perform. And let's face it, unlike Chico, the boy can also sing. But can he win it?

Oops. My bad. Forgot all about Shayne for the moment and stuck Chico in with Steve Brookstein. Done a quick edit

I sincerely hope not. He's been lucky so far with the themes. He's been able to find songs that suited him very well. He might struggle with other themes.

I don't think so. He has peaked too soon with very fortunate song choices I feel. Also he seems a bit "cold".

I agree entirely, XF is first and foremost an entertainment show, it isn't a singing contest as we have found with this latest series. Rhyd stands out as the big performer and wows the audience every week just as Chico did.

BTW, Chico could sing and sang his heart out every week. Chico worked hard at his performances like Rhyd and Same Difference do, giving the public entertaining TV. Rhyd and SD should go a very long way in this contest.

The guy is different class and totally signifies what the XF should be about. I.e. unique, different, and totally outstanding.

Spot on! My thoughts exactly. There's no denying his talent, however he's one of those people you just can't warm to. He'll be fine for a number of weeks, as there are a good few weaker acts left to weed out. However when it gets down to the final weeks of the competition, I think the fact he isn't that well liked will count against him.

Hundred percent agree.

He is exactly what the x factor should be about.

As a performer, he has no equal in this competition, he is a very, very special talent.

Can he win it? I don't know. The public cannot be relied upon to vote for talent.

I think Rhydian will have a decent following but whether it will be enough to get him to the final and win remains to be seen. Only time will tell and we're only two weeks in, a lot can change in that time.

He doesn't need to win it, when he is voted off he will be snapped up for what HE really wants to do and I think that is theatre and operas etc. He has more than X Factor, fantastic voice but not for this show!

Get RID of that hair too ....

Would like to see him for another couple of weeks though

He is a brilliant performer, he's got a great voice, he's got stage presence and he's different. i don't think he'll win, but I think he might get pretty close.

I think he could get very close but not sure he has a wide enough appeal or is likeable enough to actually win

I'm not sure how he will cope with singing ordinary songs. His operatic voice is quite good but he hit a few flats last week. I like him and I think he will do well in the competition and afterwards but I don't think he will win as I don't think this is the right medium for him
