Everyone's saying that he belongs in musical theatre/opera.

This is ill considered. Musical theatre requires playing parts. Rhydian doesn't strike me as much of an actor. His own personality is so strong, I can't see him assuming other roles. (He was great doing phantom tonight, but seriously, how many other musical theatre roles can you see him in?)

He is a big personality on stage, and we've had dramatic pop/rock performers in the past. Why not Rhydian?

He seems strangely bemused as well when he receives the judge's comments. Not sure if he's trying to play down his earlier arrogance or if he's a bit deaf

That's a good question and I agree with you about the public.

I don't understand why people dislike him when it was an obvious ploy to paint him as some kind of weirdo.

I really don't see anybody else on this show who is as unique as he is. And I say that as a fan of Leon as a really likeable guy with a good voice. But he still isn't anywhere near Rhydian's league.

I agree with others that he will be signed even if he does get voted out. I hope that it is the public that make that decision if it does happen, and not any of the judges who should know that he's the winner hands down IMO.

I think he will win it without any doubt. The guy is amazing and I'm sure that there would be people out there who could write great materials to suit his voice. There is a market for that type of music at the moment.

This probably the most predictable series ever. So the answer is yes.

He is one of the most competent singers ever IMO, he is versatile, gracious, no sob story & like everything the winner should be judged on merit & he has the X Factor.

There are those who are unable to recognise talent and presence along with a voice. This man has a brilliant voice.

I actually got shivers down my spine when he was singing last night and I don't particularly like that style of music. He definitely has the X Factor so on that basis alone would be a worthy winner.

You may not like him but there seems to be a great number of people who do.

Exactly old_red_eyes, no one is on the same league.

Why the consant comparisons between Chico and Rhydian? Chico was in the show for a laugh, couldn't sing a note in tune but got as far as he did on personality.

Rhydian CAN sing, he's a great enteratiner too and a million times better than Chico.

Anyway to answer the original question yes Rhydian can win. He's got loads of fans as proven by the fact he keeps winning the favourite polls on here and has never been in the bottom 2.

Rhydian WILL win. No one can catch him up now. Leon. etc are very 'nice' but show no star quality. Rhydian - well, your eyes just follow him, as with Leona last year.
