I don't think Alesha has been hyped any more than anyone else. She comes across as a very nice person that wants to have some fun. It would be stupid to think that is the only reason, of course she will be hoping this will help her career. She is talented, has the right attitude and seems to be genuinely nice. She has been very good in all three of her dances and I wish her all the best.
Part of the show is about the hype anyhow, but she hasn't had as much as several others that I will not name here.
No I am not an avid supporter of hers either - just call it like I see it.

I like them as a couple and her as an individual. I think they "gel" they have a good partnership and she comes across as a slightly hyperactive child. Love it. Won't resort to slagging anyone else, just like 'em!!

I think their rumba proved without a doubt to me that they have massive chemistry between the two of them.

I think Alesha is energetic and sassy ...and as much as I think Mathew is fab (loved him doing the Pro Paso) for me he's got much more of a "classy" sophisticated type thing going on.

I don't think Ian is boring at all - and I think he'd have the similar chemistry on the dance floor with Alesha as he had with Denise. And they were absolutely fantastic!!

But I take your point about brendan LOL!

My point is what I stated. I just dont 'get them'. She can dance, she is pretty, but for me something is missing. I am not attacking, I am not being nasty, I am just stating something that I have been thinking. BUT also I agree with where she has been on the leaderboard, as she is good.

Guess if you don`t `get them` now you never will despite all the answers to your question.

To me they've got obvious chemistry and make a great double act (chatty Alesha and quiet Matt seem to compliment each other oddly well).

Personally I didn't get the Mark/Karen love last year. Still don't now. They never have and never will float my boat. I didn't even fancy him like half the population seemed to.

What hype? They seem to be one of the more low profile couples. Just beacuse they're top of the poll here doesn't mean they're overhyped.

People weren't saying you were being nasty, they just want to know how you come about this opinion.
Maybe we've been watching different shows, but to me they do "gel" perfectly. They have a great chemistry going on. Which was visible from their first dance, the rumba. Even when you watch them training,...it's great. This Alesha & Matthew Cutler partnership is just perfect, and I can't imagine Alesha with anyone else then Matthew Cutler.

I just don't see that, and as many people do, I was just asking if other do (see it how I do), as I seem to be diverging from the mean.

Like I said in my earlier post, everyone is entitled to their own opinions on all the couples and there's nothing wrong if you don't 'get them', we all feel differently about each of the pairings.

What I don't understand is all the "hype". They are popular on this forum but I haven't seen them appearing on a lot of other shows like some of the other contestants. I've seen Alesha on Loose Women but that was it.

Because they have received good marks for all of their dances the papers probably write about them, but no more than some of the others.

I mean the 'love' on this forum. I wrote this thread tired and stressed about what I had read in the spoiler. So perhaps I didn't it word properly, but now I can't change the title.

I can see what you mean. "Hype" seems to imply that everyone is gushing about how much they love her, she's the judges' favourite, she's on all the shows and she's getting scores that some don't think she deserves.

I certainly wouldn't say she's hyped. I think she is in fact the top of board contender who gets the least exposure to be honest - certainly less than the likes of Penny and Kelly.

I know what you're saying because I haven't warmed to her either. But, then I've not warmed to many of the contestants this year. With the exception of Kate, I do seem to be rooting for the underdogs who haven't a snowball's chance in hell of winning but, look to be giving it a good go. Far too many contestants this year seem to have had some previous dance training to the point where I can't get behind them as much as I've done in previous series.
