What made Saturdays show (& result) so enjoyable
The entertainment value of Saturday's show was top class throughout. The whole show had a natural and benevolent feel about it. Many of the most entertaining moments were those that were spontaneous and unscripted.
The technical lowlites, such as Kate and Kenny, were, in terms of entertainment, really great. In particular, the natural behaviour of Kate and Anton just after they had finished their dance was so sheepish and charming. No-one could script reactions like theirs. The only slightly sour moment was when the judges marked down Kelly and Brendon, on a technicality. This moment was rescued by Bruno, who, defying the judges' own rules, gave the pair a 10, thereby nullifying the down-marking of the other 3 judges. Doubtless any officious schoolmasters, magistrates, Guy of Gisborne, or the Sherrif of Nottingham, who might have been watching, would have found Bruno's behaviour reprehensible. But I thought he was great. Many people regard the judges somewhat as baitable schoolteachers, and I think the many of the public really like it when someone puts 2 fingers up to them, and gets away with it. And the show ended on another hightlight, with East Enders boy, done good. Who would have predicted that. Having sneeked a peep at the results spoiler, I'm pleased with this week's result. It might not please purists, and will probably outrage many who subscribe to this forum, but it was a mass vote against over-seriousness, and in favour of enjoyable entertainment. |

i've checked the spoiler and i'm glad with the result.
i do think some viewers take the whole thing far too seriously and get over emotionally involved and upset when things don't go as they would like them to. so what if X was in the top 4 with the judges but was in the bottom 2 at the end of the show? At the end of the day its down to the public to vote and its just one of those things if you don't agree. |

I believe he is actually an actor, not an East Ender boy!If he went to stage school he would, no doubt, have done dance training. His hands are lovely and this gives the clue that he has done dance before. |

This week's result was certainly unexpected and it's a bit of a shot in the arm for all those who were starting to take things far too seriously.

Not a serious competetion----you must be joking.
why do you think the celebs put in the hours of gruelling training, not to mention all the aches and pain, fluctuating self confidence and stress. I'm sure if you asked most of them they would say the're in it to WIN. Must be very irksome if after all the effort you have put in you get voted off instead of a far less competant celeb(week after week). I normally like your posts Trish but on this occasion I disagree. |

Does the celeb who wins get exactly the same amount of money as Brian Capron at the end of the day, who knows? We've had this issue for the last three years or more , it's entertainment. |

Delighted with the result-she takes herself too seriously and just could not let herself go

SCD is in danger of becoming totally ludicrous. The ousting of u-no-hoo last night is ridiculous. Bruno and Len Goodman ought to be totally ashamed of themselves with their petulant outbursts - especially Bruno! who gave a totally UNWARRANTED 10, just to spite Len.
It is becoming farcical. Almost as stupid as X-factor or Big Bruv!!! |

Well that's your opinion. My opinion is that they deserved to be marked down and the decision to break rules is disrespectful to the other competitors. I'm all for the entertainment of the show and the judging is all panto half the time - but they're all working hard and so don't agree with what Brendan did and the response he got.

Bruno probably didn't even notice the extra lift until the others pointed it out to him. I missed it as did Philip Jackson on the red button commentary (which I've watched since last night). A lot of fuss about nothing.
Then he shouldn`t be a judge imo. |

My enjoyment from Strictly is that I want the contestants and judges to take it seriously, and then you get great entertainment when they try to reach the ideal.
If everyone had a couldnt care less attitude to the dancing and winning it would lose all its appeal and i certainly would not watch. |
