As an avid Mark and Karen fan last year, I was bewitched by the chemistry, relationship and journey that the two of them had and the well, well deserved win that they garnered with their fantastic dancing. I have to admit though, watching Matt and Flavia's AS (repeatedly I might add), there is definately major sparkage in the connection they have. So I just thought I'd throw the question out there. Could Matt and Flavia step up to be the Maren of this series?

Possibly. As long as the BBC/SCD producers don't keep playing the romance angle as that will just distract from his dancing.

Matt actually shocked me last night by being that good, just didn't expect it, the jive last week showed real potential in the Latin, and then he came out and delivered a fantastic AS, suddenly realised that the boy could win this, he's showing real commitment (which is all I ask of the celebs) and real talent

I think it's far to early to predict who is going to win but Matt is in for a shot at it definitley.
The only thing that irritates me is he's obviously a very popular member of EE so have to see the whole of the Queen vic cram in to the studio week after week

IMO, They won't make the final 2. Kelly & Alesha are better dancers.

Theres always a celeb on a "journey" there too.
I would say Kelly, Alesha and Matt OR Kelly/Alesha, Gethin and Matt. But i have no idea who would win, i'm just glad each week the top spot with the judges seems to change slightly.

I think Matt & Flavia could definitely make the final if he continues to progress as he has in the last couple of weeks. I'm not sure if Matt will be as good as Ramps on things like salsa, but his ballroom is already superior (Ramps posture stayed bad to the end). Unlike Karen, who's bb was never her strong point, Flavia is a 10-dancer, and excellent in both styles, which is a great advantage when teaching her celebs!

No offence, but are you really sure it's all about who is the better dancer? I think Matt and Flavia are dancing beautifully for two weeks in a row, and have a great chance. Plus all that rubbish in the first two weeks about 'all the girls are great, all the boys are useless' means that the men could all be regarded as underdogs by a lot of the voters, which helps Matt appear like he's improved hugely when really he just had one nervous week out first.

Too soon to say though who is going to win.

I don't see it myself. Completely different performance, personality and partnership. Like someone else said I highly doubt he'll be as good at the latin as Mark, but his ballroom is already a lot better. The only way Matt is like Mark is that they both have the dark and handsome thing going on (I can imagine Matt doing a scorching AT with Flavia).

In a lot of ways Alesha and Matt are like Mark and Karen only in reverse!

It's way too early to say, but I think that Matt and Alesha will be the final 2 standing. Both couples have magnificent chemistry.

I think its too early to say but flavia nad matt could go on to be the next mark and karen....i think they are growing on alot of people and his dancing has improved alot !

I think because the judges (and everyone else) hyped up the women so much, they can only disappoint, whereas the men started so badly, they can only really improve.

As for the final, as said above, it is too early to predict, but I think there are usually 3 couples - last year only had 2 because Tarbuck withdrew - so, imo, I'd say Matt is definitely in with a good chance.

Still too early IMO to predict a winner, male or female. But I tell you what, if Matt can keep up that kind of standard, he's going to be one of the men (if not THE man) to topple some of the girls who've been predicted as winnner.

I thought Matt seemed very arrogant when I first saw him at the beginning of the series (don't watch soaps so never heard of him before), but have to say he showed a lovely attitude on Saturday .... Very gracious.

No, Matt and Flavia cannot possibly be Mark and Karen. Matt is NOT shy, he's just nervous. Flavia is not as outspoken as Karen. Both are nice to watch as they have chemistry in spades.

As for the romance angle, I think it's coming from Matt can't helping himself for having a serious major crush on Flavia. A schoolboy having a crush with a beautiful teacher. Been there done that.

The one thing that gives me great satisfaction is that Craig said at the very beginning that Matt was going to be the Chris Parker of this series!
