DVD-iPod

I have a 4th generation iPod, does anyone know if it's possible to transfer the sound track off a music DVD onto my iPod. I'm not interested in the video as I don't have the facility to play it back, all I am after is the music.

Many thanks in advance
Alan

You could buy a programme like ripvinyl and play the dvd with the output of sound from the dvd player going into the input sound on the computer

Yes its possible, to be honest the analogue way as in the above post is probably the easiest.

I've done it once, I couldn't figure out an automated process so ripped each chapter individually, then demuxed them to extract the audio and finally converted them into MP3s with the correct track names.

Easy enough in the end but not something i'd try again in a hurry.

Rip the DVD to your computer.
Then load your VOB files (ripped DVD files) with a programme called DVD2AVI.

In DVD2AVI click the 'audio' drop down menu then choose 'decode' then go to file, then go to save project.

This should then create one or a number of WAV files. Then just convert these to MP3 using something like audacity or soundforge.Take you a lot less time than having to record a 2 hour movie realtime.

If you need more help, PM me

Audacity with the mp3 converter added would also b able to handle this job.

I've recorded lots of audio with Audacity too. I'd try that.

Yes, it's possible, you may try this DVD Audio Ripper, it can help you extract audio from DVD to MP3 file, then you can add it to iPod. I always use it to rip DVD concert to my iPod shuffle, it works really nice for me
