for how long,
and how it was for them.

Do you know, I'm surprised now at how little of series 1 I remember. I know I loved it at the time, but I can only remember a few couples, and hardly any specific dances... only really the one with Natasha in a white dress with a big red rose, and the one where Chris Parker ran round in circles with a cape... I'm quite shocked that Lilia and Darren weren't in it til series 2. I can't imagine the series without Lilia.

I think they were involved with series 1 somehow but couldn't take part because of prior commitments. I could be wrong though....

I read it was because Lilia only got her visa in time for season 2. I'm not entirely sure where I got that from, though, so I might be wrong.

I believe there were no pro dances in series one either [not that I can remember anyway] and I wonder if Ian was invited on series 2 a) as he was very tall and they needed a partner for Denise Lewis and b) as he became Camilla's pro partner after her breakup with Brendan, and they introduced the pro dances.

Ian Fans is that the case?

Nothing to do with a visa I'm sure. Her and Darren had been married for about 5 years at that point I believe.

I think it's more to do with them still competing and having a busy schedule competing and giving demos all over the world before. They're only late 20s now, so in 2004 would've beeen prime age for pro competing still.

I'm sure you're both right. That's just what I read elsewhere, but thanks for clearing that up
