If I was Kate Garraway I would be spending every waking minute of the day for the next week learning my dance steps because I would be sooo embarrased after that fiasco to show my face on that dance floor next Saturday if I was just going to let Anton throw me around the floor trip over my own feet and then laugh about how rubbish I was

!?How brilliant was it to see Tim and Jo on the show though!!! So glad Strictly is supporting and showing such wonderful dancers who so brilliantly represent our Country all over the world. They are fantastic. Fantastic routine. |

Do you think Kelly and Brendan were joking when they said the other celebs/pros hardly talked to them?
![]() I like Kelly but can never tell when she is being serious and when she has her tongue placed firmly in her cheek. |

I've noticed a lot of the top Standard ladies going for similar dress styles recently (feathers and fur and the like) - it must be coming into fashion!

If Dom left out the comedy act he would be out preety soonish too, all hte kids I know at an after school group vote for him "because he's funny" if he left all htat out he would loose all their votes.
It's about time he left out feeling up Lilia and did some dancing. |

Only slightly, but yes I would say so. Perhaps because I am more of a latin girl at heart, perhaps because I have seen a lot of Tim and Jo recently or maybe even because I love that Wet Wet Wet song.

They are fantastic. Fantastic routine. But yes I agree, absolutely brilliant surprise to see them there. As many have speculated after they had to drop out of the British this year, meaning they have to dance from the first round next year . . . will they be prepared to do it, or will they call it a day? If so, I can see them participating on Strictly at some point in the future. Perhaps. And my God! You need to check out the picture album on their site. They have some hilarious pictures of Melia, William, Peter, Jonathan W and Jonathan C all singing, dancing and looking absolutely wasted! They just gave me such a laugh! |

Lula Mae - I also understand what you are saying
![]() My point is that the judges, through their scores, are showing who they feel are the top dancers that particular night. There is no need to get personal - CR-H for all his faults delivers his critique fairly upfront without resorting to full-on nasty, personal comments, unlike one of the others in particular. I'll leave Bruno out of the equation - who after Saturday proved he's a one off If they all criticised fairly, then perhaps the less gifted dancers would be judged, and be voted for, by the GBP much fairer. Incidentally it has to be recognised that the lines are open all week before the actual final dances are seen on Saturday, therefore it is a popularity competition as much as anything else. I hope this reads as I want it to ![]() But yea, what you've said about the lines being open and it being a popularity contest, and what duryea said above about people voting for their favourite (for whatever reason, good or bad) 'celebrity' on the whole is what most are forgetting here and dare I say it, taking it all too seriously. I think the fact that this show has celebs competing rather than being a contest between competitive memebers of the public vying for a job at the end is meant to make it more fun and light hearted. Shame that is forgotten sometimes. Btw CRH ♥ has NO faults haha

I'm sorry, but I blame Bruno for this. If it hadn't been for his ridiculous 10 Penny and possibly Gabby would have been a place higher in the leaderboard, and maybe one of the weaker dancers would have been in the bottom two. Grrrr!!!

Not sure a different mark from Bruno would have saved Penny, who appears to have an insignificant fan-base, being up now two times out of three - especially this week, when she was high on the table.

Re many of the comments on here about Kate...there seems to be a general concensus of opinion that she is by far the worst dancer in the competition right now, but what is she supposed to do? Resign from the competition? She is probably mortified herself, especially after Gabby going, but she has no choice but to carry on. I love Anton, but as his style is to make fun of it all and exaggerate her (many) technical faults then they're magnified. If she had a different male celebrity maybe she'd be less jokey, try harder? I have no idea, but I don't think she can be blamed personally for staying in.

maybe appear less ecstatic?
Why should she. She's happy. Yes, she's the worst dancer. But it is beyond her control how the voting goes.

maybe appear less ecstatic? She was overjoyed last night and does keep asking for votes (and yes I know people will say that she has no real control over the GBP but she could just not say Oh keep us in!)
I'll echo what so many here have said..if they opened the phone lines after the dances and they were what was being voted for, fair enough. But to open the lines at the beginning of the week days before any dancing, well, the BBC are inviting the GBP to vote for a popularity, not a dnacing, contest. |

Well said; and if it was purely a dancing contest, there would be no need to give the public a vote at all. I do agree with the point made already that the judges may be causing the opposite reaction to that which they want with some of their comments. As far as the repeated suggestions above that Penny was chosen by the judges in order to avoid Rod Stewart backing out of an appearance on ITT, I suggest a sense of perspective is in order. Would he really back out, is he that unprofessional? Would the world end if Rod did not turn up, anyway? They'd probably get more publicity if he did fail to appear. The judges have given Penny higher marks than Gabby two out of three times, including this week, so it's consistent that they would have voted for her in the dance-off. |
