I wonder who'll be in the dance-off next week....Kelly and Alicia?!?

I for one hope that they stop the British public from voting next year! They obviously don't have a clue!

I'm not a dancer and the only things I know of dancing is through SCD and the Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers films. Yet I can tell a bad dancer from a good one. Kate was really bad last night and to a lesser extent, Kenny was too. Kate was clinging to Anton for dear life - isn't that a sign that she can't dance and probably won't improve to the standard the others are at now for at least a few weeks?

To call it a tragedy is rather extreme isn't it? Its faintly ridiculous is what it is, but as others have said, we're encouraged to vote for our favourites, not for the best dancers. Unfortunately neither were very popular this week.

No one dissagrees with you.

The main moan is the judges thinking that the GBP vote for the best dancer. The BBC want us to vote for our favourite dancer.

It's as simple as that.

I'm fully expecting a Kate, Kenny and John final now...Kelly to go next week, Matt soon after, then Alesha...etc etc.

Let's get some perspective of what this programme is all about.
If it was purely about the dancing the phone lines (assuming the public are involved at all) would be open for a couple of hours on a Saturday night after the dancing.
But it's not, it's an entertainment show for charity that has got very competitive.
The judges, Bruno in particular, have proved to be incompetent or generally biased, and the public have reacted to that. Its happened in previous series and it will happen again.

The script should be changed to ... 'you're voting for the best dance of the night' instead of 'you're voting for your favourite couple' ok a few people will still vote for their fave couple but most of the sheepmugs will go along with it.

Was always going to be 50/50 between gabby and penny. But the fact that these were the bottom two makes the show look slightly farcical!

How on earth people expect the public to take the dancing seriously when we have a buffoon like Bruno judging and scoring is beyond me

Who really cares?
They are all second-rate celebrities anyway.
It is only a TV show.

Penny is nowhere near as good as Gabby, and has been unfairly overmarked from the very beginning. So next week, can we expect Penny to be in the bottom two again?

The appearance of Gabby in the bottom two was unfortunate for her - a good dancer whom the public don't particularly support, for whatever reason

Like other people, I think the aim of the show is to vote for the person giving the best performance, or the person who has tried the hardest. Not the fittest prof dancer or the judges' favourite (Penny).

People have complained about Kelly's fake modesty and Gabby's arrogance - what about Penny's passive-aggressive tears last week? Was this an attempt to manipulate the judges by someone used to turning on the tears to get her own way?

Craig gave Penny an 8 and Gabby a 7 for their original performances - yet this time Craig changes his mind. The two performances were much like the originals - Gabbys fiery, capable and skilled - Penny's non-samba an easy ride for her - no difficult steps or moves.

So why have they called the show Strictly, while every other country calls it DWTS?

As the phone lines are already open for next week's result, wouldn't it have to be changed to 'You're voting for what you anticipate will be the best dance next Saturday'?

Because we don't have "stars". I have never heard of most of them.

I don't watch Eastenders, so that is about half of the "celebs" and there aren't many others that are A list stars. It has got to the point where the dancers are more famous than their "celeb" partners.

Why don't we go straight to the voting and cut out this irrelevant dancing nonsense? It only interferes with the entertainment.

Please could you and some other posters on this forum get a grip.

The fact is the GBP thought Kate wasn't that bad and was undermarked, The consequence was that dancers in the middle of the judges' votes were in danger. Penny Lancaster because she was severely overmarked and she doesn't have a strong public following Gabby because although she was technically very good, she didn't have any pizazz and people weren't worried whether or not she danced again.

Probably John Barnes escaped by a whisper.

But in the end, as the weeks go on, the good dancers come through.

If it were purely down to public vote, I guess Kate would be gone next week but with this judges' humilation exit business, I think Kate could actually hang on longer.

But, in the end, no way would we see a Kate final because the public want a good dancer to win. I just think that perhaps giving the judges extra power has backfired on them.

When they say "vote for your favourite" i take that to mean a combination of everything including the personalities and the dancing.

This new voting system made the judges complacent and think they could save their "favourite" dancers - however all has not gone to plan.

The public do not like those who

1. have unfair advantage (Gabby with gymnastic experience)
2. are judges favourite

The public do like however those who can show improvement over the weeks and can work well with their partner.

I am so disgusted with Saturday's result and the standard of judging this year, I actually hope that Kate wins the entire thing!
