Gabby is a better dancer - but shes a bit of a technician - and I agree with Arlene (for once) that she doesn't 'feel' the dance. Also she CANNOT shake her chest - she just ends up shaking her shoulders!

Gabby was far better I found Penny tended lumber about a bit but really neither deserved to go at this stage.

Have to say that I felt Gabby was the better dancer technically and more consistent than Penny. I feel Gabby suffered from the fact that she appears to lack passion and emotion when dancing whereas Penny conveys her joy for dancing really well IMO. Therefore, although Gabby's samba was more technically difficult, Penny's was more enjoyable to watch.

We will agree to disagree over Gabby...particularly as we won't be seeing her robot dancing again thankfully.
You make some valid points about Penny though. It didn't look much like a Samba to me at all. Overall she has been over-marked every week IMO - even the Jive - more so than any other contestant this year.
Not playing as they were both better than Kate and Kenny and should both still be in the competition.
Gabby. Agree that Penny is a bit too clumsy, which she probably can't help as she's so tall, but that doesn't change it.
I enjoyed Pennys performance more, and she put her heart and soul into that dance off (danced her boots off!). So, Penny gets my vote.
Can I just add that there is a lot of unjustified bitterness on here at the moment. Some people need to remember that it is not Pennys fault that Gabby is out. Ultimately it is the fault of the people who didn't vote for her.

Gabby - her personality is a little cool, but her dancing is by far better than Pennys.

Technically, Gabby is undoubtedly the better dancer, although she adds very little personality to her performances.

Technically I agree it was Gabby.
But I have preferred watching Penny's 3 dances over Gabby's, even the jive. More entertaining but that also has to do with Ian as a dancer and choreographer

In the dance off Gabby should have won. I am sure that Gabby has had higher scores from the Judges during the competition than Penny. BUT Gabby is not Mrs Rod Stewart and I honestly believe that was the tipping factor. If Rod turns up in the audience from time to time it gets more viewers for SCD. I thought the walking dance of Penny and Ian was pretty awful and not dancing imo!! But as we all know this is supposed to be a FUN SHOW for charity and it does not do to take is all so seriously. Gabby ruined her chances by being so furious over being down-graded a few weeks back and the public do not like that. I think Baby Spice (whatever her real name is) had the same problem. The voters did not like her and the judges never stopped going on about how marvelous she was but she did not make it to the final. Kate has had absolutely NO dancing experience and she is doing her best and the public admire that. Personally I think it is unfair that people like Kelly who has actually worked as a dancer is on the show.

As I have already said, thats rubbish. How on earth would Rod Stewart increase the viewing figures significantly? Have you ever thought that the judges might just be voting for who they thought was best and not "ratings". Oh, and it's Emma Bunton by the way.
Gabby should've stayed she had been consistent in her three dances and was technically better.
I can see why they kept Penny though, she's good and the judges (except for the level headed Craig) are probably all v.excited of the prospect of Ian and Penny's tall, leggy, blonde partnership. Lets just hope they live up to expectations or the judges may regret voting off Gabby. As I don't think she was worse on the night.

No contest - Gabby
I agree with Dancing Girl and think Penny only got through because she's Mrs Rod Steward, perhaps some of the judges (well all of them except Craig) think they will get something out of prasing Penny and keeping her in.
What a shame there was a lot more to come from Gabby and now we'll never see it.

Absolutley - there is more to dancing than being technicaly competent. Penny is the better "dancer".

I don't find Penny particularly enjoyable to watch because she is not a very good dancer. She is clumsy and heavy. Her best dance was the quickstep. She held her upper body well - but the footwork was heavy where it should have been light.
Penny's routines are choreographed to make it easy for her, whereas Gabby's dancing has skill and technical difficulty.
I agree that neither woman should have been in the bottom two on overall performances: Kate and Kenny should have been the bottom two with Kate going.
Gabby. By a long way. I agree that Penny is 'warmer' but I have never really had a problem with Gabby and I think there is nothing wrong with being competitive. I believe it has manipulated to make her look 'gobby' and sulky when actually, I think it's about herself - when she didn't execute the dance as well as she wanted, she was beating herself up, not anyone else. Perfectionist. Anyway, I am still horrified by the result. Neither should have been there but as someone who doesn't vote, I can't 'complain' too much. I just get frustrated with the idea that personality comes into it so much more than actual skill. And the favouritism is rearing it's ugly head again too...

Personally I much prefer Penny as a person, Gabby appears hard and arrogant, mind you that was a good match with James because he is that in spades.
Gabby's dancing is good but completely without feeling just like a gymnastic competition. There is supposed to be some connection between the couples.
Penny is a lot softer and obvoiusly connects with Ian very well. I wish there wasnt so much fixation with her height, it will be such an advantage for her in the ballroom dances.
I should point out this is my personal opinion, and everyone is allowed that.
