Simon Cowell must be laughing at this

This weeks fiasco will kill this series of SCD - a large chunk of viewers are actually ballroom dancing fans who care about dancing ability and won't bother tuning in again - X factor will wipe the floor with it now.

So the ballroom dancing fans who care about dancing ability will tune into a singing competition instead of the dancing competition that still has some very good dancers in it?

I doubt Simon will be happy either. Tonight's result will get people talking about SCD, not X Factor at work tomorrow.

Er i doubt that. Theres been loads of "shock" evictions in x factor. If anything it adds to more publicity.
And to be honest as sad as tonights show was i don't think it will effect viewing figures. There are still some very good dancers left.

I would be quite surprised if 'Strictly' ratings did not go UP next week.

SC may well laugh at this voting fiasco for the poor dancers. Yet one could remind him of last year, when a certain male duo, kept getting through with the vote. While more talented individuals ended up leaving the show, typical of the british public unfortunately.

Couldn't disagree more things like this won't put people off. I do believe that the 2 shows appeal to very different audiences

Everyone's missed my point: the many ballroom dancing fans (not people who read Heat magazine or post on here) who actually have an interest in dance and not celebrity.

After the decision he took on XF last night, he is hardly in a position to throw stones.

I agree, and think this does answer the OPs point about ballroom dancing fans.

Your blowing things a tad out of proportion there, Theres still alot of talent there that will interest ball room fans, If anything this shock will just get people talking and the show will expand and seeing as Strictly has now beat TXF for the second week runnig and Strictly is just building momentum, I doubt people esp 'Ball room fans' will switch to watch a singing show which features no dancing what so ever, Your arguement would have a leg to stad on had you not mentioned Ball room dancing fans not watching a Ball room show but watching a singing show instead.

I doubt Simon is delighted either this result will just hype Strictly up more and there is bound to be press coverage esp in papers.

Xfactor haven't been 100% credible this series either! Last saturday it was scheduled to start at 5.45 in the papers etc but actually started at 5.30 so very few people saw Kimberley's performance and she was then in the bottom two and voted out....fair? I don't think so!

The tabloids were going on about Sharon's walk out all lat week and I expect it was a hot topic of conversation.

Towards the end of this week the tabloids started to go on about the ridiculous saga that all the worse dancers are being saved each week and I expect it will carry on to this week. With Penny and Gabby being in the bottom two, and looking at the poll on who is the best dancer, Penny or Gabby and the majority saying Gabby it will also be a hot topic of conversation.

Tbh, I think this will BOOST Strictly's ratings against the Fix Factor.
