Strangely while Sid Vicious was chain whipping Nick Kent in the 100 club many people like me (who can claim to come from the wrong side of the tracks) were receiving a fine grant assisted education with no student loans. I was doing an MA at the RCA.
Many great artists came out of that period; Elvis Costello, Ian Dury, the Clash but not the Sex Pistols.
They produced less music than the Monkees, another manufactured band.
