Not meaning to be insulting there but FFS!

I keep reading threads and posts with people up in arms about the result tonight. That is fine. But the insults to FM's is just bizarre!!! I have seen it before here but this is only a few weeks in....for heavens sake!

I don't disagree as to why people are upset.....neither should have been in the final two.

BUT....

It is an entertainment show and people should be allowed to vote for who they like.

I think people should vote on dance but hey..I live in the real world, that ain't going to happen. So then I think people should vote for Kate as it will pee the judges off...well that did happen!

But stop with the personal insults. Over the years since I watched from series one, I have lost many a dancer and celeb who should not have gone due to public voting...but that is the rub.

But telling people they are stupid, daft or (insert many words here) is disrespectful.

I may not always agree with peoples choices but I think they should be allowed to have them! Insults just make you look silly guys. I hope I have never done that here...and why should I? One man's Kelly Brook is another mans Penny Lancaster....if we were all the same how boring would it be?

I understand kneejerk reactions and being upset but the insults to FM's? And sweeping statements alot of the time? Jeepers creepers!

Try and look at the bigger picture. It is a TV show, not the end of the world.....it is entertainment at the end of the day, and escapism from our RL's. Not an extra thing to worry about!

Thanks for starting this thread. There is one particular FM on here tonight, who is insulting everyone and everything in some pretty bad terms. It's quite childish, and I think uncalled for a show that is after all CIN entertainment.

So lighten up everybody

I would say, if you get insulted, report it.

Well, consider me smacked. I confess - I got angry that a FM called James arrogant and was glad he was booted off. I over reacted and called the poster a jerk.
Sorry.

Well done, what you've said is thoroughly true...

Come on, fill us in, who is it.

Can we vote on the worst forum member...that would be worth paying for.

I haven't been insulted Xadie...yet!

But have to say, toys out of prams are in big demand tonight, and whilst I do not agree with the final two, I defend peoples rights to want others to go through without calling them all the names under the sun.

It makes these boards..if you are sadistic...great to read. (And hey, we all are a little bit, let's face it.) But if you believe in free speech, a bit sad that rather than blaming the judges or BBC you have to moan at FM's on here who make up about 1% of the voting, for their favourites getting out!!!!

Edit: reading above....opinions on dancers and celebs are fine (I guess ) but sweeping generalisations about FM's ALL voting for certain dancers and saying said FM's are all stupid/insane/etc...are, probably not so fine. It is not just the DS FM's who vote on SCD...I do believe?

Wise words, and on the whole I agree with you. However...

LOL, I saw that remark, I actually was a bit confused by your comment, I didn't know if you actually ment the poster or James. It could have been either way.

Well said M'Lady.

Sadly there has been a trend in recent years for the insults to start flying earlier & earlier in each series, with a distinct increase in the personal nature of such remarks.

I think you're on a hiding to nothing with an appeal to stop them though. Sadly, previous experience has shown that once they start things just escalate.

Perhaps it's getting to be time for hunkering down in the warm & tranquil room.

Glad I am not the only one who feels this way.

Clearly it is sad to see someone of Gabby's calibre leave the show. I liked her and thought James was one of the more underrated dancers on the show. But tonight I've read some posts demanding that certain threads should be gatecrashed so as to 'shame' certain other FMs...

People should be allowed to vote for the couple they like the best without being reprimanded for it. I have always considered this to be one of the most tolerant forums. I'm all for lively debate and discussion of the competitors and the dancers. But surely there is no need to abuse people who support certain acts? Just my opinion. I love this forum.
