Will Alesha's nan and Penny's dad be their downfall and end their chance in the finals because they public is getting sick of seeing them (their family, not they themselves as contestants)???

Discuss!

I hate to say it, but I see your point. Don't think it will change their chances though or have any big impact on anything - just amuses me that the BBC seem a little obsessed. Both seem to be lovely people though!

I doubt it, because unless you watch ITT you only see them giving a brief comment here and there on the results show and the vast majority of SCD viewers probably don't watch ITT!

Well noone seemed to tire of seeing granny Gough so I doubt it really. I don't think casual viewers think so deeply about these things tbh!

You do get a bit sick of seeing the same relatives being interviewed every week, it would be better if they interviewed different contenstant's family/supporters each time.

I'm getting a bit sick of the obligatory screen shot of Billy Zane in the audience at the beginning of every show too.

Absolutely! Watching SCD last night with 3 friends made me put it all into perspective. We're, dare I say it, a rather intense minority on these forums and from their comments the GBP like that sort of thing!

Personally though, I agree they have shown them enough, lovely as they are (especially Alesha's nan)

Well the milkman might have some interesting points of view on the dancing, he might even have voted for Kate and Kenny. I change my mind, the milkman is fab.

I was just going to say that I'm sick of them trotting out the whole of the East Enders cast every week.

I get really fed up with seeing the same relatives again and again.Especially when they get celeb's children to say how proud they are in the sickliest voice possible.

SCD, the title of your thread seems to insinuate that something untoward may be going on with Alesha's Nan and Penny's Dad

That's what I thought too. Mind you, she does look fit enough for someone who is a nan to a 29yrs old person

No not really, this always happens on SCD and by the end of SCD3 I felt I had actually adopted Darren Gough's boys, adorable as they were

I quite like seeing family and friends, SCD is supposed to be family entertainment after all. If I had the opportunity to appear on something like this I would have to take out an injunction against my mother to stop her appearing

Also, despite the fact that the editing is trying to present Alesha's nan as a "character" to me she comes across as a lovely, natural, intelligent lady who is (quite rightly) proud of her granddaughter.

I know, I often wonder how old she is! She looks like she's in her late 60s but that can't be possible, unless she was really young when she had Alesha's mum and Alesha's mum was really young when she had Alesha.
