Am I alone in disliking Gabby?

Having just watched the results show, and checking the forum, I am surprised by the support for Gabby. I have not warmed to her from the start, and I thought I would. I think it was the first week when she was disappointed and upset because she didn't come first (and her mum confirmed that!!). Her jive was badly mistimed, and her salsa hadn't that oomph factor. She seemed too competitive, and didn't seem to fit in with the overall feeling of the show. Its true - Kate and Kenny are poorer dancers, but they seemed to care about improving and the dancing, not just about winning at something. There is something off-putting about Gabby and her partner didn't help either!! I didn't get the feeling that she enjoyed the dancing at all. Thought it would be Kate or Kenny tonight, but preferred Penny tonight.

When did Gabby dance the Salsa?

Gabby's problem is that she is so competitive and maybe she forgot the spirit of SCD-which is to raise funds for CIN

I thought that she needed to relax/feel the music a bit more etc. (performances were a bit mechanical), but she didn't deserve to go.

I never really liked or disliked Gabby, I am just shocked to see how popular she seems to have become all of a sudden now she has left, I never saw her have too many fans when she was in, but all of a sudden everyone loves her and doesn't have anything positive to say about Penny and Ian

Its just a momentary backlash of emotion on here tonight. Penny will be back in good books tomorrow - not her fault after all.

I feel sorry for Penny & Ian, I hope they don't suffer the backlash, but most of my sympathy goes to Anton, it is not his fault that he and Kate are still in the competition.

The viewers do the voting, and they didn't vote for Gabby in sufficient numbers.

Re, the dance off, I preferred Penny's -there was more warmth and humour to it

After her quickstep but before her jive, at times I almost felt I was the only one fending off blows rained on the poor girl, not that Gabby is not more than capable of defending herself. Now it looks as if I am the only one not offering compliments to Gabby.

One interesting thought though - now that she has lost, is Gabby interested only in winning? Or still interested to explore the experience of dance? Lets watch ITT tomorrow.

I have continually pointed out how Gabby is singled out as being competitive as though it is bad but Dominic, who is much, much more competitive gets by as a "cheeky chappie" (and this clearly washes with the public too). We don't like people who strive to do well in Britain, especially females.

Now, I can see that as Gabby is quite a reserved lady she may come across as "cold" but I don't think she is. Last night she was trying so hard not to cry she was actually shaking.

I didn't particularly like her or enjoy watching her dancing as much as some of the others but there is no doubt that Gabby was a good dancer. She certainly didn't deserve to go.

katy, you did not feel she represented the feminine ideal?

The feminine ideal? Who cares about that? I didn't like Gabby and I don't like Penny but it's nothing to do with them being female.

I was never a fan of Gabby to begin with, but she and Jimmy Jordan didn't deserve to leave Strictly.

Gabby stands at the bottom of the DS best-liked poll and top of the least-liked poll, so short of a miraculous performance her phone vote appeal looks bleak.”

Gabby is famous for her blunt straight talking, but at her lowest moment of defeat there was dignity and no petulance. Brava Gabby.

I didn't dislike her but her desperation to win wasn't endearing. Still, she didn't deserve to go.

I agree about her perfomances coming across as a little mechanical. Despite this, she certainly deserved to remain in the competition for several more weeks IMO but feel that she probably never recovered from her reaction to her marks in week one and the negative coverage that attracted to her.

Never expected Kenny to outlast her!

I don't think she came across as likeable and, unfortunately at the moment, it is a popularity contest not a dance one. Neither her nor Penny should have been in the bottom two.

Sorry if this has been posted on another thread but I just haven't the time to trawl through them, could this vote have been fixed for Gabby to go as I notice Rod Stewart was already booked to appear on ITT this week.

I've never been a Gabby Logan fan and I can't stand James Jordan - there is something horrible about him.

I think Gabby was too competitive for my liking. Perhaps I'm wrong, but I see SCD as a bit of fun for charity. Now I know all the celebs and dancers have to work and train hard, however, Gabby forgot about the fun factor and it was like she was back at school again, trying to be the most popular girl. What made it worse wa s being up against her hubby, who I don't like that much either.

Gabby's fan base tend not to watch SCD (e.g. my son) and the GBP don't like people who are too obviously competitive especially in a competition (she wanted to win too much, she forgot it was for charity etc etc). She didn't stand a chance.

I liked her until she threw her toys out of the pram when she came 4th in her first dance. The desperation last week when she threw cartwheels and splits into her routine and this week with a backwards walkover made me dislike her more. She was a gymnast but this is a dancing contest not a gymnastics contrest and I am surprised but glad that her smug smile has been wiped off this week. she was good but there are better dancers (and worse) there and her smugness was her downfall I think.

No you are not the only one- several people did say they didn't like her very much but got shouted down a lot and disappeared- that said however she didn't deserve to be out already.

Mistermind- for me nothing to do with competitiveness or the feminine ideal just something that grated on me- a falseness maybe- different things to different people I think same as always!

I didn't warm to her but she certainly didn't deserve to go out yet but as others have said its like Spoony going out last year
