Well maybe a bit contriversal, but hasnt the reason why Gabby left on Saturday, (no point pretending it was on SUN) , might be to do with the Guest who is being plug for this weeks ITT.

The ITT clip was prob filmed on Friday night, while crew was there, and everyone thought that Penny whould be safe, so invited Rod Stewart onto the show to talk about his wifes dancing and the competition. How sill where the beeb, they cant upset a big star like Rod by changing his interview, so the only solution to Gabby and Penny being in the bottom two was to send Gabby home.

In my opinion, Gabbys Samba had much more of the samba feel then Pennys, yes pennys was good, but the Samba steps had been closed to smaller more sixtys steps to fit the theme of sixties, (great for showing off Pennys legs) but wasnt what I whould class as a Samba

Anyway thats enough of me anyone agree

Pennys dance may not of been a technical Samba but i found it far more entertaining than most (that and Matt i enjoyed most of the night, despite me technically supporting Alesha this series), and it was at least still good dancing and close to a Samba unlike some of the dancers. For some reason Gabbys dancing does nothing for me at all, different strokes for different folks though i guess. Had i have not been watching a recorded version i may even have voted for Penny, top marks to Ian for the fun choreography.

Just posted the same thing on the dislike Gabby thread.

Ridiculous! I'm sure that if Penny had gone they could have replaced Rod as a guest!

Penny had a far better Samba action than Gabby, when Penny did her parallel runs she let her back leg 'lag' behind which was absolutly spot on. Penny danced a better Samba than Gabby, that's why the judges kept Penny in

Apart from the first week when he sported the black eye, I don't think he's even bothered to go to the other shows, has he

You always get the gratuitous shots of Billy Zane so I'm sure if Rod was there, we'd need to suffer is wrinkly old mush as well

I totally agree. This was much more of a travesty than Bruno's '10'!

That's exactly what I was thinking. Penny seemed to be strutting more than dancing & I couldn't comprehend the judge's reasons for choosing her over Gabby.

Her father is showing her more visible support than her husband imo!
I like Penny actually & was n't expecting to if I am honest.
I think this dance-off was difficult cos although Gabby was technically better imo, Penny was theatrically better it was a neck & neck thing for me & I would not have wanted to make the decision. I suppose in the end all they could go on was personal preference - how this was influenced is another story.

Gabby seemed to be placing her feet instead of feeling the dance. She just didn't have va-va-voom.

A double barrel name will win every time , only Craig was brave enough to vote on dancing ability. I wasn't a fan of Gabby but I still vote for who I believe to be the best dancers.

As the judges had scored Penny higher originally she would have had to have had a complete disaster in the dance off for the judges to vote her out.

Although I feel Gabby may have had a lot more to give dance-wise and technically very good I felt that on the night Penny gave a more entertaining performance.

When Penny danced Ian didn't feel the need to put on a 'display' as well because he had confidence she had the ability to pull it off whereas Gabby and James danced together more.

I do find it irritating when the pros of poor dancers feel the need to put on grand displays to draw attention away from the inadequacies of there partners

Yes I agree with you. Penny was showy, with her outfit geared to showing off her legs. and quite frankly, who wears boots for a samba. total gamesmanship if you ask me. It was more of a hippy hippy shake, straight out of the sixties. I danced like that to the Swingin Blue Jeans, way back when. Craig got it right.

Without a doubt Gabby's samba was far superior to Penny's.

Strutting around showing your legs and boots isn't dancing a samba.

However the cynic in me said that the judges would keep Penny as it gives them Rod Stewart for free.

There again, the public are more to blame because neither Penny nor Gabby should have been in the bottom two. Garraway, John Barnes and Kenny thingy were easily the bottom 3.
