Furious with Len

Whilst I understand that Kelly & Brendan broke the rules with their 3 lifts for the American Smooth I thought they were rightly penalised by the judges (minus Bruno) with the scores received. However, I thought that the judges dislike for Brendan was barely veiled (particularly Arlene & Len) in the comments - I don't see the point in calling one of your fellow professionals names when it clearly isn't constructive. Even Craig refrained from sinking to that level.

I was fuming on Sunday (even before the result!): I thought the official BBC line was that SCD results have been moved to Sundays because it's a family show - I was appalled when Len decided to burst into calling Brendan names all over again. It's hardly a great example to set for 'family viewing' when an individual is held up to public ridicule via name-calling. Len had already lost his cool during the show, but the names were a step too far - perhaps it's time for the judges to remember they are there in a professional capacity - not to take potshots at individuals they dislike.

I think you have to take it all in jest. They have arguments because it makes funny viewing I don't take it at all seriously. If the judges always agreed with each other there'd be no need for 4 of them. I don't think calling someone a doughnut is offensive. (Apologies if I missed something worse that he said!)

If Brendan wasn't a highly valued cast member, he wouldn't be invited back year after year. I'm sure there is no shortage of potential replacements.

Yes they're all participants in a dance contest...but they're also playing parts in an RTV 'drama'. It's a common mistake to take these squabbles and controversies at face value when in fact it's mostly playing to the cameras.

Its a pantomime now and they all have their own roles...Brendan has been cast as the bad guy for everyone to boo and hiss at and the BBC are happy at this its a show and as Tess let slip they are the cast...Bruno is the comedy relief *takes cynical head off*

Len's jibes could never be described as "in jest". He is a nasty piece of work. Voting Penny in instead of Gaby hasn't helped his popularity. Certainly not with me.
