Public and Judges Voting

I think I might be confusing myself - not unusual I have to say but looking at the results table after the judges have had their say and then seeing the bottom two, there's something quite odd about it.

If Penny and Ian finished 4th with the judges and Gabby and James finished 6th, the only way that they could have finished in the bottom two is for Kate and Anton to be no worse than number 2 (and probably number 1) with the public with Kenny and Ola taking the 1 or 2 spot that Kate/Anton didn't - if you see what I mean!

Penny and Ian would probably have had to finish bottom of the public vote (or 10th) whilst Gabby and James would take up the place at the bottom that Penny/Ian didn't.

Not impossible but two votes of sympathy from the public on the same night?

The others could have finished anywhere with the public vote including Matt and Flavia being at best 3rd with the GBP.

Or am I completely off the beam here?? Put me out of my misery, please!

Not being a mathematical person (quite the opposite! Numbers to me are just white noise!), I think you could tie yourself in knots trying to figure this out!

I'm sure there are others with better maths than myself who will put forward theories, but to be honest, unless the BBC release voting figures for each individual couple, we're never really going to know anything for certain!

I will say, however, that in my opinion, I don't think it was 'fixed'! I think it was just one of those things that happen - who can predict the vagaries of the GBP - that's wht this show is so entertaining!

The public has turned judges leader boards on its head before, otherwise Emma would never have been in the bottom two, same with Zoe, and to an extent Denise, but I was a suprise that two of them were there at the same time.

Good Lord no, not suggesting that at all!! I couldn't possibly say that ... Just saying that I do appreciate the sympathy vote but to turn the whole thing on its head (or almost) - and it has to be like that - after the judges views have produced a table, it would have to mean very low voting for two couples and very high for two others. Just strikes me as being weird.

And to be honest, I've sat and watched every programme of all 5 series and ITT as well since it's been on and enjoyed every single moment of it, and I'm not a dancer at all. But Saturday's result has really taken the edge off it all. Then throw in the silly Sunday night thing and no Karen Hardy (sigh) this year and SCD suddenly has become something a tad less than it was.
