Maybe it's the judges fault.....

I wonder if the judges can look back on Saturday's performances and honestly say hand on heart that they didn't influence the voting.

Obviously neither Penny or Gabby deserved to be in the final two but backhanded comments from the judges about the weaker celebrities won't have helped. Bruno calling John a vacuum cleaner and comments about gorilla hands and other personal jibes only provoke the public to vote possibly in sympathy.

Dom danced his first ballroom number beautifully and yet it was insinuated that he was a perv for looking at lilia's bum.

Maybe if the judges kept their comments to the technical aspects and whether or not they enjoyed the dance without resorting to personal insults (lets face it Willy Thorne was not too happy about some of the things they said to him) then perhaps we may end up with the right people in the final two rather than the upsetting situation on "Sunday" that even the judges said should never have happened that early on in the competition.

I completely agree. If the british public love an underdog, then biting comments only helps to fuel their fervor. If they kep the comments purely about technical ability and leave out the name calling the british public might be a bit more impartial in their voting. (Maybe).

I also think that the fact that the phone lines are open all week must have an impact. We only see snippets of most of the contestants on ITT but people like Kate are on our screens for 2 hours at least 3 times a week. She has so much more time to influence voting than the rest of them. The same was true of Dom (and Gethin to a less extent) last week and he came out unscathed again.

Calling Dom out for looking at Lillia's bum was entirely justified. As Len said (and I don't often agree with him) for the sake of a good posture your head has to be looking up (and Lillia did agree with Len that she had told him about it already) and not looking DOWN at Lillia's bum....as tempting as that might be

I don't know if you can actually 'blame' the judges, BUT I am still of the opinion that Gabby in particular was marked a lot lower than the performance warranted.

BUT heck let's be honest GMTV fans are block voting and Kenny got the Scot's vote when he 'promised' to wear a kilt next week. Every contestant who should have been behind both Penny and Gabby have their own fan base so maybe we should stop deluding ourselves it is about the dancing.

Hopefully the judges have learnt a lesson and will learn to be objective and constructive. As has been said there is no need for personal attacks - the GBP automatically reach for the phone when they happen. They all looked aghast when the final two were revealed - let's hope they realise that a lot of it is their own fault. I fully agree that the phone lines being open for most of week will favour some contestants but the on the night comments get taken on board by the view who can then save their favourite immediately.

I also think order has something to do with it, Gabby went first last week, and second (or third, not 100% sure) this week. The judges have shown they mark a bit lower at first and as Gabby's was the first Samba (I think) they seemed to mark it lower than it deserved to leave space for what came afterwards, but I didn't think any Samba that came aferwards was better.

I'm annoyed but not surprised.

I want Kate and Kenny out and I cannot believe people have too much money to waste voting them but it happens every year.

If your in the top three your save no matter what - ayone else can go but usualyy those in the bottom 2 before the viewers vote end up surviving. Best not to be in the middle places IMO.

When Kelly gets a low mark she will go. Shes hated so too is Brendan.

I actually think Gabby was marked fairly - it's not the steps, she can do those, but there was no real emotion in it and I didn't think she FELT the dance (listen to me sounding like Arlene)

You can't blame the judges. You can blame as many people as you like but the truth is the British public are to blame.

And if people vote a celebrity in just to spite the judges, what does that say about that person? No mind of their own, pretty pathetic eh?

How does it say they don't have a mind of their own? It says they don't like an unfair competition.

I just don't understand how someone of an intelligent mind can vote for a dancer only for the sole purpose that the judges were critical of them. Idiotic or what!

I'm not a big fan of Len Goodman, but if he slated Kate or Kenny it doesn't make me want to vote for them just to spite the judges. Where's the intelligence in that?

Can't wait for Kate or Kenny to be in the bottom 2 and see their smugged smile wiped off their faces. I long for that day, and so do millions of others!

I didn't vote for anyone this week and I probably wouldn't vote for Kenny or Kate but I don't think the public are voting for them because the judges are critical, they're voting for them because the judges play favourites with some people and are cruel to other people, Craig called Kenny grotesque and repulsive, how is that not personal? Some of their comments go to far and the public don't like it.

So far in your various posts you keep mentioning the smugness or arrogance of Kate and Kenny but as yet have not come up with an example, and sorry I can't see it.
As I have mentioned before neither profess to be good dancers and if people decide to vote for them its hardly their fault, also they're both training similar number of hours as everyone else, so still taking it seriously enough to train hard.
So let's have an example rather than every post moan about Kate and Kenny's "arrogance" and the idiotic people who vote for them.
I haven't voted for either of them as yet, and in my case wouldn't vote for Kate, but I would not be ashamed or sorry or feel any need to apologise to you if I voted for Kenny.
Perhaps you need to take it up with the BBC as every programme you are asked to "vote for your favourite". Not vote for your best dance of the night, and the fact that the lines are open all week makes that a mockery anyway,as do the professional judges who ignore the rules or are obviously biased.

My feelings exactly, see my other posts in the threads here for more.

This is exactly what I meant - we've had so many comments about Godzilla, Frankenstein, Gorillas, Walruses etc
that the public are voting with their dialling fingers.

The judges seems to spend so long thinking of these sort of things to say that they don't even get around to assessing the dancing!

How can anyone take this seriously as a dancing competition when the judges are so obviously biased and can't even respect the rules...

next thing you know we'll have the show on a sunday as well so the beeb can edit bruno's flights of fantasy

Personally, I think it might be because fisticuffs finally broke out amongst the judges (oh, okay, Len and Bruno!)

I'd vote to see that!!!!

I totally agree, it was the best truest Samba on the night. The 60s Go Go Dance with Samba steps and elements to it was very entertaining and beautifully performed, but probably had less technical content overall, so they obviously chose performance over Gabby's extra content.

It was the same with Matt & Flavia's AS going last and Alesha going first, the Judges went overboard with the final couple to dance and had a row taking away the attention from the dancing of the first couple.

But haven't the judges sussed out yet that the more condemning they are of aperformance the greater the sympathy vote someone will get.

Remember Chris Parker-he got hammered by the judges and made the final
